Adopted!

CongRATulations to the Van Vranken family!

Brandy is a sweet girl, weighing about 13 pounds, and is about 4 or 5 years old. She came from a shelter in Cabot, Arkansas, where she had been picked up as a stray. She stole the hearts of the shelter workers, and they worked very hard to get her into rescue. Brandy is house trained and knows how to use a doggie door. She is calm and docile, and only barks when she’s supposed to. She gets along with all the dogs in her foster home, and would probably do well with children, although she hasn’t been tested yet. She rides well in the car and walks like a pro on a leash. It’s hard to understand why someone didn’t come looking for this nice girl. Brandy tested a “faint positive” for heartworms, and our vets recommended keeping her on Iverheart instead of putting her through the dangerous and painful treatment for heartworms. She should test clear in 3 to 6 months, and remain on preventative the rest of her life, of course, as should all dogs. Brandy is sweet and affectionate, but not overly clingy. She is an all-around nice dog that would do well in just about any family situation. She will need to stay with her foster family until she tests clear for heartworms, or go to a home where the monthly preventative will be given without fail. Just look at that face! Make sure you see more photos of Brandy in her fosterhome.
