RugerAR2

Adopted!

CongRATulations to the Miller family!

The locals call it the Grand Prairie of Arkansas, and that’s where Ruger is from. It’s the flat farmland before you get to the Mississippi River, and it flooded in December. Ruger was kept outdoors in the Carlisle shelter when it flooded and the nighttime temps were below freezing. Local vets jumped into action and got all the dogs safe and warm, and contacted us about Ruger. Ruger was terribly underweight, but otherwise healthy. He now weighs about 16 pounds. He is estimated to be 18 months old and is doing wonderfully with house training. He walks great on a leash, and loves to ride in the car. Ruger loves to run, just for the sheer joy of running. He likes to play with the young dogs in his foster home and do super-sonic rat runs in the backyard. This active boy really needs a fenced backyard to keep him safe. He is protective of his people, and is afraid of thunderstorms, but not overly so. He does bark when someone strange comes to the door, but after he meets them he seems to like everyone. Ruger is just grateful to be warm and have his tummy full! Do you need a “pistol” of a dog like Ruger in your life? Please see more photos of this GREAT dog!

Is Ruger still available for adoption? He is beautiful. I just lost my rat, he was hit by a car and I already miss him so much. He was so much dog packed into that little body. Its so soon after he is gone but I could be interested in adopting him. Is Darla his buddy? If so, she’s awlfully cute as well. I have a Brittany at home and I am very worried about him. Alexander was the alpha dog, and I’m afraid he may feel lost without his consant companion.

I left a comment regarding Ruger yesterday and I may be interested in adopting him, but I do not see the comment posted nor did I receive an email or anything. Is he still available for adoption?
