Holly

Adopted!

CongRATulations to the Barelski family!

Holly was so terrified in the shelter that the staff thought she was unadoptable.  But one of our ResQ foster parents looked into those pleading brown eyes and made room for her, just in the nick of time.  She made a long journey from Arkansas to her foster home in North Carolina in the middle of an ice storm.  Holly is grateful for a second chance!  She weighs 11 pounds and is 12 inches tall.  She is two years old and has a docked tail.  She is not terrified any longer, she is playful and very loving to her foster family.  Holly is cautious of strangers, but when she realizes that she is safe in your lap, she will camp out for hours!  Holly plays very well with the 7 and 9 year-old human children in her foster home, but is afraid of the fast movements of the five year-old son, so an adoptive home with older children would be best.  She is house trained and sleeps through the night in her crate, just like a good girl!  Holly loves to ride in the car, and her fur-ever home would be one with lots of attention, play, and lots of lap time!  At 11 pounds, she is the perfect size for a lap buddy!  Her beautiful big brown eyes will truly warm your heart!  For more photos of Holly and her foster family, click here:

Is Holly still available? I currently have a 2 1/2 year old female rat terrier who needs a buddy. Sounds like she might be the one for my Sophie. Does she love to play? I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Holly is a one person lap dog. She has come a very long way since her rescue, but is still very fearful of stangers. I understand Sophie needs a playmate, but what are you looking for in a dog?

She is two years old and still likes to pull a squeaky to or chase a bouncy ball. After a few minutes she prefers your lap than play. She does well with the other dogs in the house, but doesn’t play with them much. Holly is the ultimate cuddle lap dog. If you want a playful dog check out Clark on our website. He plays non-stop with our golden retriever. Clark is also great with all our other dogs.

I put in my application in for Holly about a week ago. I just wanted to know a little about her. Does she like to play with toys or does she just like to be lazy around the house? How is Holly around new dogs? I don’t have a dog but my boyfriend has a greyhound that is calm and likes to lay around.
