ADOPTED! Miriam
ADOPTED!! We’d love for you to meet Miriam! Traveling all the way from a kill shelter in Georgia to safety in her new foster home in North Carolina, Miriam is an absolute sweetheart! Weighing in at only 8 1/2 pounds, she is the coziest little lap dog in the house! Her foster home has two other Rat Terriers, a Golden Retriever, three children and two adult parents. Miriam is very shy and is still getting accustomed to a busy household, but is coming along great! She is very cautious when meeting new people at first, but warms up when she realizes she’s okay. Miriam plays very gently with a tennis ball and is learning to walk on a leash. She is house trained and very well behaved. Miriam is great with other friendly dogs and children who play gently. Miriam is about 11 months old. She sleeps through the night and prefers to be right in the middle of her foster parent’s kings size bed with the other Rat Terriers. Miriam would be most happy in a home that provides lots of love, patience and plenty of human time.
Would Miriam be ok with a very old, docile Basset (who knows she’s the queen bee)and 2 sweet cats who only rough house with each other? I, the mommy, stay home pretty much 24/7.

Miriam is very shy and meek. It’s taking a while for her personality to come out, but she has started to play with dog toys a bit. She scares easily, but is super sweet. She has not been cat tested, but gets along well with other gentle dogs. You are welcome to call me to ask more questions.
Thanks,

How is it going with Miriam? She looks like a sweet little girl. I lost my Daisy in December after having her 6 years she was hit by a car and passed. I have been looking for another female that would be good with my two toddlers.

Hi, Teresa, not that I know of, but I’m not involved in the applications process. I’ll forward your inquiry to her foster mom.

Hi, Kristen – I am pretty sure Miriam has an application for adoption that is nearly complete.
