Adopted!! Wonda

Posted Mar 1, 2013 at 9:44 pm in Latest News

Adopted!!    Wonda came from a shelter where she had been for several weeks, and was passed by by adopters, day after day.  She had almost given up hope when one of our volunteers found her.  She is short and stocky, and her body looks a bit like a Jack Russell.  She has erect ears and a full tail that she wags constantly.  Wonda learned crate training very quickly, and has been doing very well with her house training.  She is estimated to be under 2 years old.  She weighs 18 pounds.  Wonda is a bit shy with strangers, especially men, but a treat or two will win her over fast!  She seems to get along with all the dogs in her foster home and loves to sit beside her foster mom and nap while her foster mom is reading.  Wonda walks nicely on a leash and does okay in a car, although she did get carsick once.  Wonda would probably be nervous around small children, and she has not been tested with cats.  A fenced backyard would be great, but she would probably adjust to being walked on a leash to go potty.  If you are looking for a sweet girl who would love to snuggle up to you, please consider Wonda!  For photos of her in her foster home, check her album often for updates:

Karma – ADOPTED!

ADOPTED!!     Looking for some good karma?  Look no further!  Karma is a sweet girl, looking for a forever home.  She was in a shelter for months, sleeping on chemically-treated concrete, and as a result, her skin was in terrible shape when she arrived in foster care.  After only a week, she is looking much, much better!  Karma is young, between 1 and 2 years old, and weighs 18 pounds.  She is a typical standard rat terrier, with long legs.  She has a docked tail.  She is a gray tri-color, with beautiful gray eyes.  She is quite the snuggler, and when you pet her she closes her eyes with delight.  She seems to be so grateful to be out of the shelter and in her foster home, and is trying very hard to do everything that is asked of her.  She sleeps willingly in her crate at night and is doing very well with her housetraining.  Karma is friendly to strangers without being pushy.  She needs a little work with walking on a leash, and she hasn’t been tested with children and cats.  Karma really needs a fenced backyard, because this little girl spends a lot of time outside, chasing birds and squirrels!  Check back often to see her progress, and look for more photos here:
