Sally – ADOPTED!!

Posted Dec 28, 2013 at 3:56 pm in Latest News

ADOPTED!!  Sally lost her home through no fault of her own, but she is settling into her new foster home very well.  Sally is a sweet girl who weighs 20 pounds, and is house trained and very well mannered.  Her foster mom can’t say enough nice things about her.  She is good with children, and even cats!  Sally just seems to love everyone she meets.  She likes to take car rides, and walks well on a leash.  Her favorite thing in life is a nice warm lap to sleep on, and she would fit well into just about any type of household.  Sally is quiet and has been a joy to her foster family since she arrived.  Rat Terriers live a very long life, and Sally is healthy and ready to give her new family a lot of love for many years to come.  If you are looking for a well-mannered, sweet girl who is already trained and has a lot of love to offer, look no further than Sally!  For photos of her in her foster home, check her photograph album:

Cocoa Puff – ADOPTED!!

Posted Dec 28, 2013 at 3:50 pm in Latest News

ADOPTED!!    This cute little girl’s official ResQ name is “Cocoa Puff,” but her foster dad kept calling her “Sweetie,” and it stuck.  Oh, well.  “Sweetie” is a good name for this sweet little girl.  She is between 1 and 2 years of age, and weighs 12 – 13 pounds.  She is a very pretty chocolate and white girl, with a full tail that is constantly in motion.  She loves everyone she meets.  Sweetie is very happy sleeping in a crate, but will gladly cuddle with you during the cold winter weather if you will let her.  And she is the perfect size for a lap dog!  We believe she would be better with children over 5 or 6, because she likes to mouth your hands when she is playing.  She also jumps up with her front feet on bare legs, which would not be good around very young children.  Other than this puppy-type behavior, she is perfect in her foster home.  She is house trained and loves her crate, sometimes preferring to sleep in her crate.  She is quiet and doesn’t bark much at all, just the perfect little lady in every way.   Cocoa came into ResQ with a severely luxating patella (kneecap) on her right hind leg.  She walked with a very painful and unusual gait, and we knew right away she needed our help.  We are happy to report that after our surgeon saw her and corrected the problem, she is running and playing on all four legs in no pain, and her recovery has been 100% complete.  This little girl can do a major rat run!  She loves to play with toys, and makes everyone smile with her happy personality.  Don’t you need a little “Sweetie” in your life to make you smile?  Visit her album for more photos:

Dolly — ADOPTED!!

Posted Dec 15, 2013 at 3:27 pm in Latest News

ADOPTED!!  Well, hello, Dolly!  Dolly is a very sweet girl, who is 4 years old and weighs 20 pounds.  She is a beautiful tan and white, with a full tail that she’s not shy about wagging.  Dolly was picked up by a small town dog catcher more than once, and her owners wouldn’t pay the fine to retrieve her, so ResQ was called.  Dolly is housebroken, crate trained, and very well-mannered in the house.  She adores her people, both men and women alike.  She greets visitors with a happy attitude.  We think she would be fine with children, especially those over 6.  We have not tested her with very young children.  She is very affectionate, and playful!  She loves to play fetch with a tennis ball, and although she is pretty hard on stuffed toys, she loves them. She has a lot of love to give a lucky family.  She does great with the other dogs in her foster home, both males and females.  Dolly has finished her heart worm treatment and is doing great!  For more photos in her foster home,  click here

Ollie – ADOPTED!

Posted Dec 15, 2013 at 3:21 pm in Latest News

ADOPTED!!    Ollie is a very handsome rat terrier with tons of puppy energy.  He is estimated to be 10 to 12 months old and is a stocky 14 pounds.  Ollie was rescued from a Jacksonville, AR, shelter along with his sister, Paisley.  They were both grateful to be placed in loving foster homes in NC and VA.  Ollie really misses Paisley and hopes that someone out there might be willing to adopt both he and his sister, but Ollie will be a happy guy with a family of his own.  Ollie needs a home that is very active and supports the fun and energetic playful puppy years.  A fenced-in yard would be a huge bonus for Ollie, where he can run free and release all of that playful puppy energy.  Ollie is house trained and sleeps through the night in his crate, or sometimes on his foster parents’ bed.  He is a very good boy who loves to play hard and then take a rest all snuggled up in his foster mom’s lap.  He is great with children and other dogs.  He would not do well in a home where he was crated all day.  Is your home ready for this awesome pup?  And don’t forget to check out his sister Paisley!  For more photos of Ollie in his foster home, click here:
