ADOPTED!! Bambi is 8 pounds of doggie diva! She loves to be treated like the Princess she is. She is a beautiful chocolate and white Rat Terrier mix, with probably a little Toy Fox Terrier in for good measure. She was returned after a bad placement by the shelter, and became urgent because she was then an owner surrender. They adopted her to a home where they expected her to be a “guard dog” in the husband’s shop building. They brought her back, saying she needed to be “someone’s lap dog.” Well, of course she does! Bambi is a snuggler, and prefers to sleep in her person’s nice warm bed, and will spend a lot of time curled up near you on the sofa. Bambi seems to really adore men as well as women. She really likes to be spoiled, and her foster parents are living up to her expectations. Bambi came to us paper-trained, so we are working on house training her, and she’s doing very well. But in a pinch, she will use a piddle pad. She doesn’t like being crated at all, and if you open the door to go somewhere, she thinks she needs to go with you. She is learning the word “wait” at the door so she does not follow you out. Bambi has not been with very young kids in her foster home yet, but we are willing to have her meet them to see if she will be too shy or scared, we have a feeling she might just jump in their lap. She would be safe with kids over 8 without issues. She gets along great with all the other dogs in the house and she is doing good with the cat. She will lay on the couch with her but sometimes when the cat runs she does like to chase her and try to play with her. She is so soft and does not have a thick coat of hair so she is more then willing to wear a coat or sweater to go outside. She is a good car-rider, and walks great on a leash. We don’t know how a sweetie like Bambi wound up in a shelter, but we promised to find her a good home. If you need a little girlee to spoil, we’re sure Bambi would be up for it! We have a female rescue dog from Ark she is 1/2 border collie and 1/2 jack russell. I wonder if they would get along.
