Zena – ADOPTED!!

Posted May 18, 2014 at 7:24 pm in Latest News

ADOPTED!!  Zena, (also known as the Warrior Princess of the Big Ears, for obvious reasons) was picked up as a stray in North Carolina. She is likely a rat terrier-chihuahua mix, and she has lots of rat terrier attitude! She is estimated to be a year old and weighs less than 10 pounds. She was very skinny when she came to rescue, and she will likely gain a pound or two now that she’s in a stable home. She is a joyous soul, very active, and curious about everything around her. She also loves snuggles and being around people. She is great with other dogs, and wishes that her 5 foster siblings would play more with her. She can run like a greyhound. She is being crated when her foster parents aren’t home, and does fine in the crate. She hasn’t had any accidents outside of the crate, but her housebreaking is still being assessed. At night, she prefers snuggling with her new people and wishes that they had a bigger bed, because there are too many rat terriers and not enough space. Zena has not been around young children yet, but there are no indications that she would have any issues with them. She sniffed at the cat as she passed it, with no sign of aggression, but hasn’t spent any quality time with cats. Zena is young and has a lot of energy. She is a very happy, loving little girl and would do very well in most households. For more photos

Bravo – ADOPTED!

Posted May 12, 2014 at 9:16 pm in Latest News

ADOPTED!!   Bravo!  This handsome Texas boy is aptly named Bravo.  He is about a year old, and weighs about 15 pounds.  He is being fostered in Lewisville, Texas, along with another male foster dog.  He gets along fine with his housemate, and is a very smart boy!  He is crate trained and knows how to use a dog door to go outside to do his “bidness.”  Bravo hasn’t been around any cats, so we are unsure about his tolerance toward them, and he hasn’t been exposed to many children while he’s been in foster care, but he does meet all visitors with a friendly attitude and is quick to make friends.  His favorite thing to do is cuddle in someone’s lap!  Bravo is crate trained and housebroken, and his foster mom reports he is a joy to have around.  Bravo came into ResQ with a very mild case of heartworms, but has sailed through the treatment and is now ready to find his new home.  If you are looking for a new friend, please give this boy a look-see!  For photos of Bravo in his foster home, click here:
