SuzieQ – ADOPTED!!

Posted Sep 13, 2014 at 4:29 pm in Latest News

SuzieQADOPTED!!  Suzie Q has a sad story to tell.  She was rescued on her last day from a small town dog pound in Arkansas.  She was skin and bones when she was picked up as a stray and her future looked bleak.  Her owner was known, but didn’t want her.  Suzie Q is a tall standard and should weigh in the neighborhood of 20 pounds, but she weighed in at 15 pounds when she was taken to the vet for the first time.  She is doing well with a good diet, and is enjoying being indoors at her foster home.  She was kept outside at her previous home, and was obviously neglected.  By some miracle, she doesn’t have any serious health issues.  Suzie Q is about 2 to 3 years old, and currently weighs about 23 pounds.  We expect her to gain a bit more weight.  She loves being indoors, and sleeps at the foot of her foster mom’s bed without making a peep.  She is doing very well on her house training.  Suzie Q seems to be confused about all of the dogs in her foster home, and is learning how to get along with everyone.  She is very obedient and minds well, but she does have alpha dog tendencies.  A fenced back yard is a must for this girl, and we suspect she would not do well with cats.  For photos of Suzie Q in her foster home, click here:

Stella – ADOPTED!

Posted Sep 13, 2014 at 4:21 pm in Latest News

Stella  ADOPTED!!   Meet Stella!  This sweet girl weighs only 8 pounds, and is a whirling dervish of face-licking, playful fun!  She is only about a year old, and has already had to go through heart worm treatment because she wasn’t kept on preventative.  She is doing wonderfully, and should be ready for her new home about the end of October – just in time for rolling in your piles of freshly-raked leaves.  Stella is always happy and always playful, but a bit shy with people she just met until she checks you out.  Currently she sleeps at night in a big crate with her foster sister, Lulu.  And those two girls chase and play all day long.  She will curl up in your lap to watch TV, but only after she gives you some kissies on the face.  She is definitely an affectionate girl!  We are pretty confident she would be fine with children.  Stella is housebroken with a doggie door, and when kept on a routine.  If it’s raining she needs to be coaxed a little more, but she is a good girl.  If you would like to give this little bit of a girl a home, please fill out an application.  For more photos of her in her foster home, check her album often:
