Penny – ADOPTED!!

penny5ADOPTED!!  Have you heard of a lucky penny?  Well, this Penny is lucky.  After her owner died, the family dumped her at the shelter.  Rat Terrier ResQ stepped in to save this girl who was also heart worm positive.  Penny has completed her treatment and is ready to find her forever home.  Penny is 21 pounds, so she’s a sturdy girl.  She is about 3-5 years old with pearly whites.   She is more a tomboy that a girly-girl as is evidenced when she comes in hot, skidding across the deck heading for the house.  She is housebroken, but does not bark to go out.  She gets along well with her much smaller 10 pound foster brother, but can be a bit bossy with toys and treats.  She would do best as either an only dog or with a dog who is larger or very confident.  Penny sits or lies down waiting patiently at her food dish, in fact, she does this almost every time you go to the kitchen.  Penny likes to sit with you and give kisses.  She would make a great dog for just about any person or family.  Her larger size means children 8 or older might be best.  She is a master of collar escapes, so walking her with a harness is necessary. A fenced backyard would be a plus for this active girl.  For more photos of Penny in her foster home, check out her album here:

Yes, all our dogs are spayed or neutered. It’s a State Law in most states, and just the right thing to do. If you are interested, our application can be found on the front page of our website. Cora

Penny is pending. The weather has forced a delay in her trip home. But she should be adopted
    this weekend.
