Mouse – ADOPTED!!

Posted Nov 28, 2016 at 8:47 am in Happy Endings, Latest News

mouseADOPTED!!  As you can see, this pretty little girl named Mouse is a long-legged rat terrier. She is estimated to be over 4 yrs old and is a petite 10 pounds.  Mouse is housebroken, crate-trained and is walking nicely on the leash.  She is very quiet and rarely makes a sound unless someone knocks on the front door.  Mouse does great on long car rides and RV trips, and loves to play outdoors!   Just toss a ball and watch her just light up with happiness!  This sweetie is a velcro-dog, wherever you go, she wants to be right there next to you.  She will do best in a home with children 10 and older, as she is very frightened of little children.  We don’t know what happened to her in her past, but maybe children were not so nice to her, leaving her frightened of small hands and quick movements by little people.  She is friendly with other dogs (with proper introduction) and has shown no signs of aggression with the stray cats.  Anyone interested in a loving, quiet lapdog…this is your girl!  She wants nothing but to be loved and love in return.  For more photos of little Mouse in her foster home, click here:

Rudy – ADOPTED!!

ADOPTED!!  Rudy (short for Rudolph) is approximately 3 to 4 years old and is a chihuahua/ rat terrier mix. Rudy is a sweet little boy weighing in at 11 lbs. He is great with all the other dogs but does chase the cat for fun. He is shy when you first meet him, but attaches quickly and wants to be petted and loved on. Rudy loves covering you with kisses . Rudy has some separation anxieties and is only happy if he can sleep in bed with you, otherwise he gets nervous and will bark.  We believe he came from an abusive situation, so he needs time to be sure you wont hurt him. He is house broken and rides great in the car. He seems to be having an issue relieving himself on the leash, but does fine in a fenced yard.  Rudy is nervous of fast movements at first so we would recommend children over 10 years old.  His favorite thing is belly rubs and he knows how cute he looks when he rolls over for them. He will make your heart melt.  Rudoph really wants a family of his own. Rudolph is ready to pack his bags for a new life with you!  For more photos of Rudy, click here:

Nico – ADOPTED!!

nico1ADOPTED!!  Meet Nico!  Nico is a dapper little Rat Terrier who weighs 19 pounds.  He was surrendered at a kill shelter along with his brother Bentley.  Nico and Bentley share a strong bond, sticking together like glue!  They were rescued by a whole team of volunteers; including friends of the shelter that pulled them out to safety before their euthanization day, and volunteer pilots who flew them from SC to NC, all the way to their new foster home.  Since they have been in foster care they are learning to relax, open up, and play more independently.  Nico is more cautious when meeting new people and he gets along with the other dogs and older children in the home.  Nico is house trained and sleeps through the night.   His beautiful markings make him look like he is wearing a shiney black tuxedo.  He is one handsome guy!  Nico tested positive for heart worms, so he will not be ready for adoption until he finishes his treatment.  In the meantime, he is getting tons of love and he dreams of his new adoptive home and family.  It would be the sweetest dream possible if he could find his adoptive home with his brother Bentley.  For more photos of Bently in his foster home, click here:
