Also, our rescue friends at New Rattitude, ARTRA/National Rat Terrier Rescue and Rat Terrier Rescue Canada have wonderful Ratties in need of homes! If you can’t find the perfect match with Rat Terrier ResQ, we do hope you’ll check into those groups!
Cagney & Lacy are from a puppy mill where they were used as breeders. After severe tornadoes this past spring, they ended up at a kill facility in Alabama. They are currently in foster care in Monroe, NY. They were two very frightened dogs when they arrived, but Cagney has adjusted extremely well. She is a loving, friendly and sweet girl at about 18 lbs. with a 2-3 inch tail. Lacey is still frightened but has made substantial progress since she arrived. She will need special care but will be fine eventually, once she learns to trust humans again. If anyone is up for an interesting challenge, with a great dog as the prize, she’s it.. Lacey is approx. 15 lbs. and has the same size tail as Cagney. She has a very sweet personality. They are estimated to be about 4 years old. Both dogs adore each other, play together, sleep together, etc. They will only be approved to be adopted together. These special girls are in foster care with Ettie Biegel in Monroe, NY. Please call 845 496-8738 if you are interested in giving these two deserving girls a loving, forever home.
This sweet little rat terrier is named Gracie. She is about 2 years old and weighs 12 pounds. She was rescued from a shelter in central Arkansas. She is good with other dogs, cats, kids, and adults. She is a bit fearful of men, but will warm up fast if they are patient with her. She is fully vetted, heartworm negative, and spayed. When she was rescued from the shelter she had a cast on one of her legs, so we think she had a broken leg, but she uses it normally now. She is housetrained and uses a doggie door, is good on a leash, and very affectionate. Adoption fee is $125, and transport may be arranged. Contact Belinda at: macy_maltese@yahoo.com if you are interested in adopting Gracie!
