Dogs who are Adult (2 – 8 years)

Rudy

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Connecticut   •   Age: Adult

*Rudy is being fostered in Wolcott, CT.*

rudyRudy (short for Rudolph) is approximately 3 to 4 years old, and is a chihuahua/ rat terrier mix. Rudy is a sweet little boy weighing in at only 11 pounds, the perfect lap size!  He is great with all the other dogs but does chase the cat for fun. He is shy when you first meet him, but warms up quickly and wants to be petted and loved on. Rudy loves covering you with kisses, and sleeping in bed with his foster parents is the bomb!  He is so grateful to be with people that will show him kindness and love. He is house trained, and loves to go for fun car rides!  Like most small dogs, he is nervous of fast movements at first so we would recommend children over 7 years old . His favorite thing is belly rubs and he knows how cute he looks when he rolls over for them. He will make your heart melt.  If he got his wish, Rudolph really wants a family of his own for the Holidays. Do you need some extra love this Holiday and forever?  Rudolph is ready to pack his bags for a new life with you!  For more photos of Rudy, click here:

Roadie

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Florida   •   Age: Adult

*Roadie is being fostered in Babson Park, FL.*

roadieRoadie is a big dog in a little body.  This little chocolate tri-color guy weighs in at just 8 lbs and is about 6 years old.  Roadie came to us after being hit by a car and is still healing from his injuries.  He is doing great and walks and runs like any other dog.  You’d have to look really close to tell that he was ever injured.  Roadie has a lot of spunk.  He plays with the other dogs in his foster home and loves to snuggle up with his foster family on the couch.  Roadie is crate-trained and housebroken, and walks nicely on a leash.  When he’s been around cats and other small animals, he’s pretty much ignored them.  He’s fine with children 8 and older, but we haven’t had him around younger children.  Roadie is not quite ready to go home, but he will be soon.  With any luck, he hopes to have a family of his own for the holidays. Penny – ADOPTION PENDING!!

Sex: Female  •   Located in: Wisconsin   •   Age: Adult

*Penny – ADOPTION PENDING!! is being fostered in Green Bay, WI.*

penny5Have you heard of a lucky penny?  Well, this Penny is lucky.  After her owner died, the family dumped her at the shelter.  Rat Terrier ResQ stepped in to save this girl who was also heart worm positive.  Penny has completed her treatment and is ready to find her forever home.  Penny is 21 pounds, so she’s a sturdy girl.  She is about 3-5 years old with pearly whites.   She is more a tomboy that a girly-girl as is evidenced when she comes in hot, skidding across the deck heading for the house.  She is housebroken, but does not bark to go out.  She gets along well with her much smaller 10 pound foster brother, but can be a bit bossy with toys and treats.  She would do best as either an only dog or with a dog who is larger or very confident.  Penny sits or lies down waiting patiently at her food dish, in fact, she does this almost every time you go to the kitchen.  Penny likes to sit with you and give kisses.  She would make a great dog for just about any person or family.  Her larger size means children 8 or older might be best.  She is a master of collar escapes, so walking her with a harness is necessary. A fenced backyard would be a plus for this active girl.  For more photos of Penny in her foster home, check out her album here:

Bindi – ADOPTION PENDING!!

Sex: Female  •   Located in: New York   •   Age: Adult

*Bindi – ADOPTION PENDING!! is being fostered in Mastic Beach, New York.*

bindi1Hello mates!  Say G’day to our new foster girl, Bindi!  This sweet girl ended up homeless when her owner died, but ResQ stepped in to help!  Bindi is a love bug and a playful girl, but is always ready to relax with you, and maybe share your pillow if you let her.  She listens to commands well, is housebroken and crate trained.  She loves to play ball and is eager to catch the Frisbee.  A big wiggle butt, at 32 lbs, she is a tall girl, too measuring 17″ at her shoulder.  She is probably a Jack Russell Terrier mix and approx. 5 yrs old.  Bindi is very smart and learned her new name quickly… she even helped pick it out!  She is good with other dogs and she loves children!  We think she misses the kids in her former home.  She is even good with cats!  This sweet girl loves everyone.  But, If YOU don’t like kisses, then this girl is not for you.  THIS girl loves to LOVE on you and enjoys belly rubs to no end!  Although she wasn’t kept on heart worm preventative, she thankfully didn’t contract the disease.   She is fully vaccinated now, clean and safe until she finds her forever owners to love and care for this special soul. Bindi could use some leash training, but she is very intelligent and learns quickly. This, and possibly a suspect for stealing tissues out of the garbage cans, would be the only areas her foster home could say she would need some training with at this time…  otherwise, she is the perfect dog!  Check back for updates as this Aussie settles into her foster home!  And be sure and enjoy the photos in her album:
