Dogs who are Young (6 mos – 2 years)
ADOPTED! Scout
Sex: Male • Located in: Wisconsin • Age: Young
*ADOPTED! Scout is being fostered in Kenosha, WI.*
ADOPTED! Meet Scout! Scout is the most adorable little ratty you will ever come across! Scout is a short-legged rat terrier, usually referred to as a “Teddy,” and weighs about 11 pounds. Our vets think he is about a year old, maybe a tad older. He loves to play with toys! He is a sable and white, his coloring is beautiful! He has the cutest bob tail and his ears stand straight up. Scout is house trained and knows how to use the doggie door. He is crate trained but his foster mom likes to let him to sleep next to her (when he falls to sleep he is out like a rock until morning) and he is such a snuggle bug. Scout loves to play with his foster brother and sisters, but he also loves to fall to sleep on a lap if one is available. We are working on food habits he thinks at feeding time all the bowls are for him, but he is learning that is not the case. He is very loving and has not shown any aggression towards anyone. He was a big hit on Easter and everyone in the house held and played with him. His foster mom has not seen any aggression towards any other dogs, and there are plenty of them around so that is not a concern. Scout is especially drawn to children, and doesn’t mind cats at all. He rides well in the car and is no problem walking on a leash, does hesitate a little, but he is just adjusting to his surroundings. Scout does like to chew so he does have to be provided raw hides or safe chew bones, antlers work well and last a long time. For more photos of this cutie, check his album often:

Adopted!! Wonda
Sex: Female • Located in: Arkansas • Age: Young
*Adopted!! Wonda is being fostered in Arkadelphia, AR.*
Adopted!! Wonda came from a shelter where she had been for several weeks, and was passed by by adopters, day after day. She had almost given up hope when one of our volunteers found her. She is short and stocky, and her body looks a bit like a Jack Russell. She has erect ears and a full tail that she wags constantly. Wonda learned crate training very quickly, and has been doing very well with her house training. She is estimated to be under 2 years old. She weighs 18 pounds. Wonda is a bit shy with strangers, especially men, but a treat or two will win her over fast! She seems to get along with all the dogs in her foster home and loves to sit beside her foster mom and nap while her foster mom is reading. Wonda walks nicely on a leash and does okay in a car, although she did get carsick once. Wonda would probably be nervous around small children, and she has not been tested with cats. A fenced backyard would be great, but she would probably adjust to being walked on a leash to go potty. If you are looking for a sweet girl who would love to snuggle up to you, please consider Wonda! For photos of her in her foster home, check her album often for updates:

Karma
Sex: Female • Located in: Arkansas • Age: Young
*Karma is being fostered in Arkadelphia, AR.*
Looking for some good karma? Look no further! Karma is a sweet girl, looking for a forever home. She was in a shelter for months, sleeping on chemically-treated concrete, and as a result, her skin was in terrible shape when she arrived in foster care. After only a week, she is looking much, much better! Karma is young, between 1 and 2 years old, and weighs 18 pounds. She is a typical standard rat terrier, with long legs. She has a docked tail. She is a gray tri-color, with beautiful gray eyes. She is quite the snuggler, and when you pet her she closes her eyes with delight. She seems to be so grateful to be out of the shelter and in her foster home, and is trying very hard to do everything that is asked of her. She sleeps willingly in her crate at night and is doing very well with her housetraining. Karma is friendly to strangers without being pushy. She needs a little work with walking on a leash, and she hasn’t been tested with children and cats. Karma really needs a fenced backyard, because this little girl spends a lot of time outside, chasing birds and squirrels! Check back often to see her progress, and look for more photos here:
