Dewey was pulled from a shelter in Las Vegas and flew home with his fostermom to his new fosterhome in CT. This cute guy gets along great with all the other dogs in his foster home and has the funniest personality! He loves to chase a tennis ball, play with all his toys, or take a break and snuggle on your lap. He enjoys sleeping in bed with his foster parents and snuggling tight to keep you safe. Dewey sleeps through the night without a peep and wakes up giving you lots of kisses. Dewey is crate trained, house trained, and great on a leash. It takes him a few minutes to warm up to new people, but once he knows you won’t hurt him he is a total lovebug! Because he is a bit shy at first meeting, it would probably be best for his family to consist of children over 10. Once you meet this little guy you will fall in love, so please make a place in your heart for him.

When the temps at the shelter reached 100 degrees, ResQ was asked to take her. Darla is an athelete, very strong and solidly built. She loves to run, chase tennis balls, tug-of-war, and play, play, play. She and her foster brother Ruger are best pals. Darla is housebroken with a doggie door, and loves to do rat runs in the backyard of her foster home. She weighs about 16 pounds, and is solid muscle, not an ounce of fat on this girl. Unfortunately, Darla has tested a light positive for heartworms, and has already begun her treatment. Keeping her inactive is going to be a challenge! She should be ready for adoption in September. Darla is probably fine with older children who like to play ball, and probably should have a fenced backyard or some other way to burn off energy. She is loving and loves to sit in laps, and sleep at the foot of your bed. For more photos of Darla in action, Click Here!

He came from a nearby shelter as a stray, having been there so long his time was up. Butch is safe now and looking for his perfect family. He is estimated to be 2 years old, and is very healthy and happy. Butch loves to play with his toys, fetch, play tug-o’-war. An active family with other dogs would be perfect for this guy. A bonus would be a family that wanted to do agility with him. He loves to jump over things and has a blast doing it. He catches on pretty fast to whatever you’re trying to teach him. Butch is crate trained, 95% house trained, and we are working on his leash skills. Do you think Butch could come home with you? Make sure you see more pictures of this looker!

I am about a year old and weigh 18 pounds. Before I became a ResQ dog, I was a stray in south Florida. Volunteers rescued me from an animal shelter, and now I’m waiting for my forever home. I love, love, love kids and other dogs. I don’t mind cats, but I’m a little embarrassed to tell you that they scare me a little bit. I’m a really good boy. I sleep in my crate without complaining, and I’m house trained. I hardly ever bark, and I’m content to just sit in your lap or as close to you as I can. Do you have room in your heart and home for me? If so please adopt me, I have my own leash and will travel. Please check out some more pics of my handsome mug!

She sleeps willingly in a crate at night, and is learning basic manners. Gracie is learning to walk on a leash and brushing up on her house training. Gracie is part Rat Terrier and Bull Terrier, and because of the BT breed, she suffers from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) but it is controlled on medication that costs $14 a month. This has calmed her significantly. A quiet home is best for her, as lots of activity increases her OCD behavior. We are working on reditrecting her with obedience training to help her mind focus more. She thinks sheeping on the bed is the bomb! A fenced yard is required for this girl. Please see more pics of this girlie!

His favorite place is in your lap – on his back and belly up in the air for all to see. He sleeps on the bed at night and stays until its time to get up. He has been cat-scanned – he showed interest but no aggression. He would do well with children but may be a bit timid in an extremely loud environment. Ghillie is a sweet boy who needs a loving home with an empty lap waiting just for him. It’s the flat farmland before you get to the Mississippi River, and it flooded in December. Ruger was kept outdoors in the Carlisle shelter when it flooded and the nighttime temps were below freezing. Local vets jumped into action and got all the dogs safe and warm, and contacted us about Ruger. Ruger was terribly underweight, but otherwise healthy. He now weighs about 16 pounds. He is estimated to be 18 months old and is doing wonderfully with house training. He walks great on a leash, and loves to ride in the car. Ruger loves to run, just for the sheer joy of running. He likes to play with the young dogs in his foster home and do super-sonic rat runs in the backyard. This active boy really needs a fenced backyard to keep him safe. He is protective of his people, and is afraid of thunderstorms, but not overly so. He does bark when someone strange comes to the door, but after he meets them he seems to like everyone. Ruger is just grateful to be warm and have his tummy full! Do you need a “pistol” of a dog like Ruger in your life? Please see more photos of this GREAT dog!
