Dogs who are Male

Coby

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Arkansas   •   Age: Adult

*Coby is being fostered in Arkadelphia, AR.*

Please note:  Coby will not be available until he completes heartworm treatment.  We will update this bio when he is ready for adoption.  We estimate that he will be healthy and ready to go “home” about the end of July.
This is Coby!  Our vets estimate his age at 6 to 7 years old.  He is a very handsome classic looking boy, and is a type B or Teddy Roosevelt Terrier, which basically means he has short legs.  He is approximately 18 pounds and 14 inches tall at the shoulder, with a nub of a tail. Coby acts much younger than his age and loves to play with toys.   Coby can run like lightening and jump like a rabbit.  He LOVES to give kisses and can be pretty stealthy at it too, sneaking kisses in when you aren’t expecting them.  Coby gets along with all the dogs in his foster home.  He also likes children, and is pretty laid back and docile with them.  He listens well and walks nicely on a leash.  He will run around and play with great speed, but then is ready to cuddle up next to you for a nap.  Although he would prefer to sleep under the covers, he is crate trained.  If invited to, Coby can jump up 5ft onto the bed from a standing position.  He is a fast learner and very quickly adjusted to his foster family’s household.  Coby enjoys the back yard, running around chasing squirrels and barking at anything that might be on the other side of the fence!  After a while playing, a nap on the deck in the sun is a favorite spot. Coby is housebroken and doesn’t like being crated, but he will do as he is told.  He rides well in a car, prefering to lay on the floor in the back seat for a snooze until you get to your destination.  He had been living on a farm for the past few years but is back in foster care because his owners fell on hard times.  Are you looking for your new best friend?  Coby is taking applications for a new furever family now!  He will be a loyal, loving companion for the lucky family who adopts him.  Be sure to let him know, so he can pack his bags to come home!

ADOPTED! Scout

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Wisconsin   •   Age: Young

*ADOPTED! Scout is being fostered in Kenosha, WI.*

ADOPTED!    Meet Scout!  Scout is the most adorable little ratty you will ever come across! Scout is a short-legged rat terrier, usually referred to as a “Teddy,” and weighs about 11 pounds.  Our vets think he is about a year old, maybe a tad older.  He loves to play with toys!  He is a sable and white, his coloring is beautiful!  He has the cutest bob tail and his ears stand straight up.  Scout is house trained and knows how to use the doggie door. He is crate trained but his foster mom likes to let him to sleep next to her (when he falls to sleep he is out like a rock until morning) and he is such a snuggle bug.  Scout loves to play with his foster brother and sisters, but he also loves to fall to sleep on a lap if one is available.  We are working on food habits he thinks at feeding time all the bowls are for him, but he is learning that is not the case. He is very loving and has not shown any aggression towards anyone.  He was a big hit on Easter and everyone in the house held and played with him.  His foster mom has not seen any aggression towards any other dogs, and there are plenty of them around so that is not a concern.  Scout is especially drawn to children, and doesn’t mind cats at all.  He rides well in the car and is no problem walking on a leash, does hesitate a little, but he is just adjusting to his surroundings.  Scout does like to chew so he does have to be provided raw hides or safe chew bones, antlers work well and last a long time.  For more photos of this cutie, check his album often:

Tommy Boy

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Wisconsin   •   Age: Adult

*Tommy Boy is being fostered in Green Bay, WI.*

With a bit of a rough past, Tommy Boy is proving himself to be a loving companion.  Originally picked up by animal control, Tommy Boy spent 9 months with an all-breed group where he waited in a kennel for an adoption that never came.  He caught the eye of a ResQ volunteer, so we took him in to give him a chance at his forever home. He is Teddy, or a B rat terrier, so he has short legs. He is about 12 pounds and probably about 7 years old.  His teeth were in very bad shape and several small front teeth had to be removed because they were loose. Tommy is working on his trust issues.  He seems to like all people he meets, even curling up for a nap with them, but he does not like being picked up and hugged.  He is also working on letting you handle his feet.  Because of this, we feel he would be best in a home with adults or teens who understand his limits.  He is housebroken, knows the dog door and really enjoys sleeping on his foster mom’s bed when she lets him, though he is completely comfortable in his crate as well.  He gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in the home and plays most often by himself.  His favorite thing is sitting with his person and just hanging out.  He gets very excited when he sees a leash, and he sits nicely and can stay.  For more photos of Tommy Boy, here is his photo album:

Tango

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Texas   •   Age: Adult

*Tango is being fostered in Lewisville, TX.*

Tango comes from the Tri-Cities area of Texas, and was rescued along with his housemate, Echo.  They had been at the shelter for months, with everyone passing them over.  Our vets think he is between 6 and 8 years old, and weighs 11 1/2 pounds.  This boy still has a lot of spunk left!  Tango has a lot of spring in his step, and can really jump high.  Tango is friendly to people, but doesn’t really know how to play.  His foster mom is teaching him that the world isn’t such a scary place.  Tango has come a long way in foster care, and seem to be happy in their Texas foster home.  This good-looking guy is doing well with his housetraining, and he thinks sleeping snuggled up next to his foster mom is the best thing in the world.  If you would like to know more about Tango, check out his photograph album:    And be sure to watch his video below:
