Patrick – ADOPTED!!

Posted Jun 13, 2018 at 7:13 am in Happy Endings, Latest News

  • ADOPTED!!  Patrick is a sweet boy about 6 years old but you would never know it by looking at him.  He looks and acts like a youngster!  He loves everyone he meets, especially children.  He is great in the car and is well-mannered on a leash.  Patrick is house trained and crate trained as well.  He gets along with other dogs once he gets used to them. It just takes a proper meeting then he  is great and wants to play with his new-found friends.  He is good with his foster family’s cat, but will chase her if she runs.  He thinks the game is on, but he would not hurt her.  Patrick was diagnosed with a very mild heart murmur at a young age,  but our vets say he is as healthy as can be, and has many years of love to offer his new family.  He would love a family to call his own, are you looking for your next best friend?  Take a look at Patrick!

Bob – ADOPTED!!

Posted May 28, 2018 at 6:13 am in Latest News

ADOPTED!!  We’d like everyone to meet Bob!  Bob’s story is a sad one, but it’s going to have a happy ending.  He was dumped at a landfill along with his mother, who was found dead by the kind person who saved Bob from the same fate.  Our volunteer picked him up on May 5th, and was appalled at what she saw.  Bob was 12 pounds of skin and bones, and suffered from a horrible case of demodex.  The demodex was so bad that his breed was impossible to determine, but the person who found Bob reported that his mother was a Jack Russell.  Now in foster care, and after intensive veterinary care, Bob’s skin has made an amazing recovery, he has gained weight!  His wonderful, somewhat “goofy” personality has emerged in full force!  Bob loves everyone and everything.  He is great with small children and other dogs, as well as cats!  He is laid back and just an all-around cool  dog.  Bob sleeps willingly in his crate at night.  He doesn’t seem to get upset at anything, and loves to play, play, play!!  Bob is working very hard on his house training, and has the doggie door down pat.  At 6 months and 20 pounds, we suspect Bob will get larger than the typical JRT, but we have no way of knowing what his father was.  Bob really needs another dog his size or larger in the home, because this boy loves to PLAY!  A fenced yard is preferred. If your active family is looking for a wonderful family dog, “What About Bob?”   For more photos of Bob, click here:

And be sure and watch his cute video:

Scarlett – ADOPTED!!

Posted Nov 29, 2017 at 4:49 pm in Happy Endings, Latest News

ADOPTED!!  Scarlett was not even a year old when she was allowed to have her first litter of puppies.  She is still a puppy herself, full of playful energy and with a loving nature.  Scarlett came into rescue with her 6 puppies, which were fathered by a chihuahua in the home.  Her pups were 5 weeks old when the entire family was surrendered.  She has been the best mom, but now she deserves to find a family to pamper her and love her forever.  She is 12 pounds, and our vets think she is about 9 or 10 months old.  She is a beautiful red and white, with a jaunty tail that curls twice over her back.  She is housebroken with a doggie door, and comes running when you call her name.  She minds very well, and is affectionate and submissive.  She gets along with all the dogs in her foster home, and especially likes curling up in your lap for a snooze while you watch an old movie.  We have not discovered any behavorial issues with Scarlett, and she has gotten a clean bill of health from our vets.  So she is ready to begin the search for her new family!  If you have room for a little girl with a big heart, this is your girl.  For more photos of Scarlett in her foster home, click her album:    We will be updating it, so check back often!

Ozzy – ADOPTED!

Posted Sep 13, 2017 at 9:55 am in Happy Endings, Latest News

ADOPTED!!  Ozzy!  Ozzy!  Ozzy!  When he hears that, he comes running.  Ozzy is a great little dog who was found as a stray, and luckily he was spotted and picked up by a rescue volunteer in North Arkansas.  His owners were never located.  He is about 3 years old we think, and seems to like men and women equally, but he loves to follow his foster dad around wherever he goes.  Ozzy is a beautiful black and white boy with a bit of brindle on his cheeks.  He has a full tail, and wags it all the time.  He weighs about 18 pounds, and has shorter legs and a full tail that wags all the time.  Ozzy rides well in a car, and does great on a leash.  He is housebroken with a doggie door, but he did attempt to mark on his first day in foster care. (All he needed was a stern reminder that marking is not acceptable, and he has been a good boy ever since.)  He gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home, and since he is a bit timid with new people, we think that older children would be best, especially since Ozzy is nervous about being picked up by someone he doesn’t know.  He sleeps in a dog bed on the floor, and is one happy camper.  Since he was not kept on heart worm preventative, Ozzy is finishing up with his heart worm treatment and should be 100% healthy and ready to go to his new home about the middle of October.  A fenced yard would be best for him.  For more photos of Ozzy, check his album:
