After her owner passed away her beloved pets were dropped at a shelter and Lady was facing her last day. Lady has a wonderful, energetic little personality that feeds off of love and attention. Lady is housed trained and is definitely an inside pet. She loves to play chase outside and roll in the grass, but then she is ready to come back inside! She is most happy when in your lap. She gets along well with the other rat terriers in the house, but will growl if they try to take her lap spot. Lady is two years old. She weighs 12 lbs. and is approximately 14” tall. She will bark at strangers, but after a few sniffs she is friendly to everyone. She will let you know when someone is at the door before the bell rings. Lady is very smart and great with children as long as they are gentle in play. She prefers to sleep right in her foster parents’ bed, under the covers (of course!) or cuddled up side-by-side. Lady wants a family like her foster home where she gets lots of petting, love, play and attention! For more pictures of Lady in her foster home, click here: http://ImageEvent.com/coram/lady

Volunteers rescued me from an animal shelter, and now I’m waiting for my forever home. I love, love, love kids and other dogs. I don’t mind cats, but I’m a little embarrassed to tell you that they scare me a little bit. I’m a really good boy. I sleep in my crate without complaining, and I’m house trained. I hardly ever bark, and I’m content to just sit in your lap or as close to you as I can. Do you have room in your heart and home for me? If so please adopt me, I have my own leash and will travel. My foster mother is teaching me manners, like she should go out the door before me. I’m learning to go into my crate on command, and actually, I’m getting good at it. I like everyone: kids, dogs, cats, although I sometimes bark at dogs I haven’t met yet, and might chase a cat, especially if it runs. I would really love to have a home and family of my own. Do you have room for me? Why don’t you have a look at more pictures of me?

My name is Baxter, aren’t I a handsome guy? I got lost and was a stray when the shelter people found me. My left elbow had been broken recently and not set properly, so it is a little cattywampus, but I get along just fine! Doc says in time I’ll be all healed though I may have a limp. But, let me tell you, it sure doesn’t hold me down right now. I’m a blue merle which makes me very unique. I’m close to a year old, long-legged, and a svelte 10 lbs but expect to be more when I am fully grown and well. I’m very clever and learned to use the doggy door all on my own. I also figured out a way to use a stool to get up to mom’s bed where I spend the night curled up next to her. It gets a little cozy with us three dogs and mom, too. I’m not much on crates….they have those at the shelter and I was very glad to be rescued from them. I can play by myself or with my housemates. I mind pretty well and come when called — especially if it is breakfast or dinnertime. I think it’s great fun to watch the squirrels in the backyard and bark at them or maybe just talk a little. I have quite the vocabulary. I would really love to have a home and family of my own. Do you have room for me? Why don’t you have a look at more pictures of me at: http://imageevent.com/coram/baxter

Meet Venus! Venus and her sister Serena were not adopted at the Austin, TX, shelter for some unknown reason, so they found themselves in danger of euthanasia. Venus is about 5 months old and weighs 7 pounds. She and her sister are really good girls, and are working hard on their housebreaking. They already know how to use a doggie door, and love to run and play outside. Venus is nearly all white, except for light tan ears. She is technically called an apricot and white, and has a black nose. She is a beautiful girl, and would be an excellent apartment dog or just about any family situation. Venus is a little more shy than her sister, but she is quiet and docile, and loves to sit in your lap. She is loving and very sweet, and doesn’t mind that her sister bosses her around a little. Do you have room for a little sweetie named Venus? See more pics of this girlie

Hi, there! My name is Sable. I’m 5 months old, and they tell me I may be a cross between at Jack Russell and a Rat Terrier. Whatever that is, I’m cute! I’m white with tan markings and was living in Whisky Slew in Tracy until my current foster mum and foster dad found me. It has taken me a little while to adjust being with a “family” – I’m not sure what happened to mine, but guess what? Now I have 4 other doggies to play and pal around with. I like being around other dogs and I’m also very good around children – my Mum and Dad have an 18 month old little boy, who I love to play with and follow around. I need a little training, but given my start in life, I’m well behaved, very playful and love being scratched behind my ears. I would love to go to a family that will love and spoil me unconditionally. If you would like for me to become part of your family, please fill out an application, and I’ll start packing my bags! Note: Little Sable has an undiagnosed leg injury, she may have been thrown from a car. ResQ has scheduled x-rays and she will be treated before she is released for adoption. But this little one is worth waiting for!

She weighs only 9 lbs. and stands 10 inches tall at the shoulders. She has erect ears, a tricolor head, brown eyes and a short little tail. Joanie is a people-person. Errr … People-Dog. She would probably be very happy as an only dog. As an alpha female, she tends to get possessive of her person, but she has learned to share couch time with her foster brothers and sisters. She REALLY loves being close to you, and thrives on attention. Joanie is great with kids (toddlers) and tolerates cats. Joanie has a close relationship right now with Chachi, who was with her when she was found. She can be a bit bossy but is learning at her foster home to fall in with the pack for walks, feeding and grooming time. Joanie is a smart, quick little girl who enjoys a quick sprint as much as a quiet nap. She is crate-trained and currently prefers sharing her crate with her BFF — Chachi. She is an athletic little gal who runs, jumps and climbs with the best of them. She can scale a chain link fence if the mood strikes her, so that needs to be taken into consideration for placement into her new home.

Chachi is a little black and white teddy-type rat terrier who we estimate to be about 3 years old. He weighs about 14 lbs., stands 12 inches tall, has erect ears and a mostly black head with brown eyes. He has a smooth coat and a tail that he wags with all of his heart and soul. Chachi is housetrained and will alert you with a little whine at the door when he has to potty. He is crate-trained and seems to regard the crate as his safe place when he gets sleepy or anxious (such as during big, bad thunderstorms). This smart boy has quickly picked up “sit” in the few days he’s been at this foster home and waits to be invited up on furniture before he makes himself comfortable. He is very affectionate with adult humans and loves quiet petting and snuggling. He is protective of his humans so he’ll growl a warning at other dogs trying to nudge him out of the prime spot next to you. Chachi would be okay being an only dog, but he does get along with his foster siblings most of the time. Outside he’s a little butt-wiggling ball of energy, interested in anything and everything. He’s a bird and squirrel tracker, he’ll bark fiercely at intruders in your yard, and trots along nicely on a leash. He may be short in stature but he can jump and climb with the best of them. He can easily scale a chain link fence if the mood strikes him to go off exploring. Chachi is tolerant of cats but not very tolerant of children – especially toddlers who might grab at him. So a home with no small children would be best. Enjoy some photos and video of Chachi in all of his handsome glory at this link. Click Here!
