Minnie is 2 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. She is crate trained, house trained, and gets along with everyone including other dogs and children. We’re not sure how she does with cats, but we can have her “cat-scanned” upon request. Minnie came to us from an animal shelter in south Florida when her owners were no longer able to care for her. Minnie was shy for about the first half hour in her foster home. After that, it was as if she owned the place. She plays with the other dogs and is very sweet and affectionate. She’s full of energy and loves to run around but is also content to sit in your lap or next to you on the couch. Is Minnie the perfect addition to your family? Please see more pictures of Minnie!

Parker is a handsome one year old male. He is a tall guy (about 17 inches) and weighs around 15 pounds. He is very active and needs to have space to run and play. Although he is young, he is very smart and knows his basic commands, and how to properly walk on a leash. He is in training right now to be a very well-adjusted, happy dog. He definitely needs to have humans who can be his leaders. He is a follower, and should not be given too much leeway. He knows his boundaries and will not jump on furniture or go where he is not allowed to be in the house. He is housebroken and uses the doggie door to go potty outside. He adores being around people, and loves playing with other dogs. He likes going to the dog parks and will run for hours with his dog friends. He likes being chased and playing with his toys. He would do best in a home where there is another playful dog, a home with children to play with him, and a very, very active owner. If you think Parker would make a great addition to your home, please fill out an application. Please see more pictures of Parker!

CongRATulations to the Getchell family!

Skeeter is a happy, energetic, spirited little guy who doesn’t seem to have any fears. He’s willing to engage anyone in play – from dogs his size to a 160 lb Great Dane. He loves toys of all kinds but especially loves chasing tennis balls – he’s an excellent catcher! He’s a big kisser, very affectionate and loves cuddling under blankets with you while watching TV or napping. He is crate-trained and house-trained, comes when you call his name and has recently learned to walk on a leash but he’s still easily distracted by squirrels. He will chase a cat if it runs, but if they stand their ground, he backs off. He’s very protective of his food so he’ll growl if other dogs look at him while he’s eating. Skeeter likes kids but he’s still a little nippy when grabbing toys or treats (still a little puppy behavior left in him). Skeeter is 18 months and weighs 20 pounds. He’d love to have a home for the holidays — maybe it’s yours? Make sure you see more pictures of Skeeter!

CongRATulations to the Morrin/Dennehy family!

Meet Greyson, a distinguished gentleman at the approximate age of 9 years old and around 15 pounds. Since arriving in his foster home he has been nothing but a well-mannered and pleasant companion. Greyson is house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash. This guy loves everyone, young and old! Greyson gets along well with his foster siblings and loves to play with his ball; he can entertain himself for hours. Greyson was a victim of the foreclosure problem in California. He was abandoned in his backyard, in bad shape, left for animal control to come and rescue him. After undergoing extensive teeth cleaning, the vets found surgical metal in his mouth which had to be removed. Apparently, it was left in his mouth long ago from some type of corrective surgery and was never removed. Because this metal was in his mouth for so long (the specific time frame is unknown), it left his teeth and gums in terrible shape. Poor Greyson had a terrible odor due to his body digesting he metal, but there is good news! Since removing the metal and few good baths, he no longer has a bad smell. There is no residual health impact, except that his teeth and gums will need to be monitored by a veterinarian on an annual basis. Please see more pics of Greyson!

She is crate trained, but she will need a little training on the leash. She loves to sit on your lap and take a nap and also enjoys playing with all toys. She would be best with children over 6 because she is still a little bit mouthy, but she is learning to use her toys instead. She is not a destructive pup and is happy just to play with her toys. Molly loves to cuddle and be pet while on your lap, purrs when you pick her up and is happiest when she can be curled up next to you. Molly plays well with the 3 Rat Terrier buddies in her foster home. She is making great strides with her house training skills and is adapting to her leash. She has spent too much time in a crate in her past but is thriving now with her new freedom in her foster household and loves snuggling in bed. Molly will come when she is called by name and likes riding in the car. This affectionate girl can’t wait to meet her forever family.
Tejas (called Hoss for short) is named for the area of Texas where he was found. He and his three siblings were discovered in the woods with their deceased mama. He is about 5 months old and weighs about 13 lbs. Tejas has a full tail which wags constantly, and he loves to chase bugs in the leaves outside. He also likes to play in the snow. He is doing great with his potty training and rarely has an accident. Tejas is also crate trained and good on a leash. He is a great snuggler and loves cuddling, meeting new people and new dogs! He did meet a cat, and did not chase! He was content to try and play with her. He is food motivated so he is easy to train. Tejas is a good puppy, and deserves a family of his own. Could that be yours? Please see more pictures of this cutie pie!

An Arkansas-wide plea was posted to try to save this darling little girl in the Cabot shelter. She had a broken leg. A trip to the Cabot vet produced a very poor diagnosis, and the vet’s advice was to amputate the leg because the two bones wouldn’t line up. She had a broken leg. A trip to the Cabot vet produced a very poor diagnosis, and the vet’s advice was to amputate the leg because the two bones wouldn’t line up. She has a complete break of both bones in her front leg, close to the paw where the bones are tiny. ResQ wasn’t ready to give up on her leg, so we had one of our vets look at her. He recommended splinting the leg and hoping for the best. But as evidenced from her x-ray, it wasn’t lined up well at all. We opted to send Noogie (also called “Bug,”) to our orthopedic specialist in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She underwent expensive surgery to plate the bones on February 12th. This little girl, about 5 years old, has always had a smile on her face and a wag in her tail. She loves everyone she meets, and the feeling is mutual. This is a very special little girl who deserves a chance at being whole again. Please see more photos of Noogie!
