Maisey2008-06-20 |
Adoption Pending!Congratulations to the McClane family! Location: Arkansas Affectionately referred to as "Crazy Maisey," this beautiful 9.2-lb., one-year-old little gem who was fortunately removed from a puppymill before she had the misfortune of being bred. This is a sweet girl with a playful and energetic personality while playing with other dogs, yet remains calm and cautious of people at first. She is great indoors and doing well with potty training, although not completely without accidents quite yet. We are working with her and she is responding nicely. She has not yet been around children or felines, but we would be more than happy to make arrangements to introduce her to them if requested. She has also not been tried on leash, so training in this area would be required. This princess does great sleeping in a crate at night, but does best when she is nestled in with another furry friend. She deserves a forever loving family to call her own. Don't hesitate to apply to be that special adopter she's waiting for.

Tate2008-07-27 |
Location: New York Meet little man Tate! This adorable little guy is about 10 pounds and about 2 years old. He is very timid and skittish, but has progressed nicely in his fosterhome, beginning to play with a couple of his foster brothers. He is still very nervous of fast movements and loud noises. Tate would blossom best in a quiet home without children and with patient human(s) who will give Tate time and space. He loves to sleep in bed, is very snuggly and doesn't mind being close for petting and hugs. He will kiss your hand from time to time. He has been seen lifting his leg on several occasions, so we gird him up with a belly band to help avoid accidents. He uses a doggie door to do his business otherwise. This is a precious little soul that just yearns to let the "big dog" come out of his little frame. A calm playmate would be good for Tate, but also being an only dog would allow for all the attention and love to be focused solely on him, which he deserves. Please only apply for this very special boy if you can give him the love and patience that he needs. He patiently awaits his special forever family.

Jodi2008-07-27 |
Location: Arkansas *Jodi is being fostered in Arkadelphia.* Beautiful Jodi is a sweet, loving little girl, about 12 pounds. She is slightly timid (but not in a bad way). Who knows what this poor dear has gone through? She was found pregnant and had her puppies in a kill shelter. Jodi was rescued by a wonderful Rat Terrier ResQ volunteer. Jodi has Heartworms and is going through treatment. As soon as she is through with that, she will be ready to join you in your home! She is such a loving, wonderful little girl. Jodi is great in her crate, house trained, loves to sit on a lap and gets along great with all the other dogs. She does like dogs that are of a calmer nature. Jodi is not a rough and tough girl, she is like a delicate flower that you want to hold and cherish. She is a pleasure to have around, a real joy. Do you have room in your heart for beautiful Jodi?

Chico2008-07-27 |
Location: Arkansas *Chico is being fostered in Arkadelphia.* Hey there, Chico! Chico is a handsome little guy, about 12 pounds, who was rescued from a backyard breeder situation in South Texas. He is very shy in new situations, but once he trusts you, he is a true lap dog. Chico is very smart and is housebroken with a doggie door, as well as crate trained. Chico is young, probably 2 years or less. It is important that any prospective adopter know that Chico tends to bond to one person, and would probably not be a good choice for an active family dog. He has recently started to interact with other people more, after intense socialization efforts by his foster family. He has come a long way, but still needs to learn a few things. He needs to be trained to walk on a leash, and not to bark at visitors, but he's trying hard to be good! Chico must have a home and family that understands unsocialized dogs and has patience to help him trust humans again. He will reward you with unlimited dog kisses and a warm lap. Check in on Chico and the Rockport 9 often!

Zoe2008-08-06 |
Location: California *Zoe is being fostered in Auburn.* Zoe is a 1 year old Rattie. She is a very energetic young lady and would really like to be part of an active family. Her prey drive is very high so she would be a good candidate for Agility or Flyball. She gets along with the two Ratties in her foster home and does fine with the resident cats, although it wouldn't be advised to have small pets like mice, rats, hamsters, or guinea pigs, which could end up being her lunch that are within her reach. Zoe would be fine in a home with older mature kids. Zoe has been diagnosed with PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease), which is extremely rare in Rat Terriers. Her current blood work and urinalysis show that her kidney function is in the normal range. She may need to be on a low-protein diet for the rest of her life and may need to be on an herbal supplement. We would recommend for her adopters to have a good relationship with their veterinarian and be willing to follow the recommendations. Zoe loves life and is always up for a new adventure. Are you ready to bring this little ball of energy into your life?
