How to Help
- Rat Terrier ResQ is able to continue our work due to the generosity of good folks like you. We are humbled by the caring, giving Rattie fans out there that help us with our work in so many different ways. Wondering how you can help? Here are some ideas:
- Make a donation. Rat Terrier ResQ has low adoption fees, and we spend, on average, double the adoption fee on each dog we rescue. This means that we rely strongly on donations to help continue the Rescue Cycle (rescue, rehab, rehome).
- Sponsor an individual dog. Not every dog is lucky enough to be in good health and free from injury. Some of our dogs are recovering from surgeries or Heartworm treatment, for example. Because of their out-of-the-ordinary medical costs, they would love sponsorships from guardian angels like you.
- Volunteer to do a home visit or to help transport a ResQ Rat from shelter to foster home or from foster home to forever home.

We would like to invite you to participate in our “Give A Dog A Bone” program! Our foster families shoulder various expenses (except for vet bills and heartworm preventative) for their foster dogs, and in some cases, multiple foster dogs. It gets expensive! Expenses include: dog food, flea preventative, beds, crates, toys, collars, leashes, harnesses, and treats.
You can help share the costs they often incur by participating in the “Give A Dog A Bone” program. How does the program work? It’s simple!
First, choose a lucky dog from our website that you would like to help.
Email our volunteer at: giveabone01@gmail.com with the name of the dog you would like to sponsor, along with your name and mailing address. Each “Bone” costs $25, and you can paypal your gift to giveabone01@gmail.com - be sure and let us know which lucky dog you have chosen! If you prefer to mail a check or use NFG, (Network For Good) be sure and let us know which dog will receive your gift.
Our volunteer will then issue a $25 gift card from either PetCo or PetSmart to the foster family of the lucky dog you are sponsoring, to be used for that foster dog, and you will receive a proper “Thank You” from ResQ, along with the gratitude of a lucky ResQ dog and his foster family!
