Tater TotAdopted!

CongRATulations to the Reynolds family!

Have you ever seen an 8-pound Tater Tot? No? Well, now you have! This cute little guy was picked up as a stray in a very small rural Arkansas town. Luckily, he was brought to one of our vets. After a heartworm test revealed a faint positive, ResQ was asked to take him. Our vet told us he was cute, and he didn’t lie! See his cute little natural bob? Tater Tot is about a year old, and loves every living thing. He is affectionate and playful, and minds well, and will sleep in a crate or snuggled up in a dog bed. (or in your lap, which is his favorite place to be) He learned the doggie door on his first day in his foster home, and is already housebroken! Tater stands up on his hind legs and waves his front paws together, like he is begging. It’s so cute! This little guy may only need the first half of the heartworm treatment, so check back often to see if he’s ready for adoption. In the meantime, check his album, located here for photos of this adorable little guy.

Alice

Adopted!

CongRATulations to the Deigan family!

Alice is a sweet little girl, approximately 12 inches from floor to shoulder and she weighs 12 to 13 pounds. She has long legs, a full tail, and is just such a beauty! She was a stray in Arkansas, and was turned in to a shelter back in August along with her brother Alvin. She is less than a year old, and full of life! Alice is adjusting to her new name and being apart of a home again, full of human and furry family members. Because she is a sweet young thing, she has lots of energy, but is content to just lay by your side and keep you company, no matter what you might be doing. Alice loves to explore the backyard and chase squirrels or whatever she thinks might be living under the shed! Her long legs make her fast and she thoroughly enjoys the freedom, peace and contentment of being in a home again. Alice is smart! She listens well and is already crate trained. Chucky

Adopted!

CongRATulations to the Lustig family!

Little Chucky is a shy guy but it doesn’t take long for him to reveal his sweet and playful personality. He is a gentle, loving young boy - about a year old and 15 lbs. He is a long-legged (15 in. at the shoulder) tricolor rat terrier with a smooth coat and an 8 in. tail. He has button ears, a dark head and muzzle and brown eyes. Chucky plays very nicely with any size dogs and is gentle with children. He loves to snuggle and be cuddled and he’s perfectly willing to share you with other pets. He is still potty training and remembers to go outside about half the time right now. He walks nicely on a leash and rides quietly in the car. He is an alert watch dog but doesn’t bark excessively. Mostly he is a gentle little soul and would love to share a home with adults, children and other pets. See Chucky in photos & video here: http://imageevent.com/ratterrierresq/chucky

Bonnie

Adopted!

CongRATulations to the Docherty family!

Bonnie is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 12 lbs. She is housebroken and crate trained. She gets along well with other dogs and hasn’t met a person she didn’t like. This outgoing little flirt loves everyone and will even stand up on her hind legs and do a little dance for you. We are not sure how she does with cats, but can have her “Cat” scanned upon request. Bonnie was found on the streets and brought into a Florida shelter along with her brother, Clyde. Unfortunately, no one came looking for them, so when their time was up, they became ResQ dogs. Bonnie is the more outgoing of the two and looks out for her brother. That’s what big sisters do! They can usually be found lying on top of one another in a little pile. Bonnie and Clyde are available for adoption together or separately. View more pictures of Bonnie at http://imageevent.com/ratterrierresq/bonnie

Adopted! Twiggy

Twiggy

Adopted!

CongRATulations to the Gregorio family!

“Twiggy” used to be called “Tippy” before she came to ResQ. Her long legs and slender build brought back vintage images from the 60’s & 70’s. At 3 years old and only 6 lbs, this female tri-color mostly black and white with tan could probably use a pound or two. Only a short while ago, Twiggy was separated from her brother when he escaped the shelter in KY, but she safely arrived in her fostermom’s arms on September 25th. She seems so delicate, but can show her hardy side when in the yard with her foster siblings. She arrived with a nasty case of kennel cough, but is finally feeling well, and we get to see the real Twiggy! She’s such a sweetheart and would like nothing than to sit in your lap 24/7. She is crate trained and mostly housetrained with a doggie door, or as long as you keep her on a schedule and watch for her signs. She doesn’t mind the crate and sometimes, feels most comfortable in when she wants to get away from it all. She loves to give kisses and make you happy. Twiggy loves EVERYONE, furry & human, small & tall! You don’t need a lot of space for this girl, just enough room in your heart! Her soulful eyes will pull at your heart strings and you’ll fall in love. She would be a loyal, loving companion with a patient family or parent(s). Feel free to contact ResQ for more information on the world’s newest sweetheart, Twiggy the Rat Terrier!

Pepper

Adopted!

CongRATulations to the Jacobson family!

Pepper is a sweet-tempered, active little guy with a big case of the friendlies. He is still in the puppy stage, at 10 months old and 12 pounds. Pepper has funny little mannerisms and will keep you laughing! He seems very bright and needs someone to teach him dog-people activities. He plays ball enthusiastically, gives up toys easily and likes to ride in the car. Pepper is crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate without complaining, but he would no doubt like to upgrade to your bed. Pepper is working on his housetraining and coming along very nicely! He is not destructive, and is always seen soliciting all the other dogs to play. His favorite game is chase! The shelter said he ignored cats, and seems to be fine with the chickens at his foster home. He is eager to participate in everything you do, BRING IT ON! Pepper may well become the best dog you have ever had. Please let him know when to pack his bags for his trip home! ADOPTED!! Butch

ButchCA1

Adopted!

CongRATulations to the Alexiou family!

This is Butch, quite possibly the most handsome Rat Terrier you’ll ever meet. He came from a shelter in California as a stray, having been there so long his time was up. Butch is safe now and looking for his perfect family. He is estimated to be 2 years old, and is very healthy and happy. Butch loves to play with his toys, fetch, and play tug-o’-war. An active family with other dogs would be perfect for this guy, and kids of his own to play with would be wonderful! He loves to jump over things and has a blast doing it. He catches on pretty fast to whatever you’re trying to teach him, because he is smart! Butch is crate trained and housebroken with a doggie door, and considers himself a lap dog. He does well on a leash, too, and loves to ride in a car. Butch flew to Arkansas in early August to have surgery at our Arkansas vet to repair a slipping kneecap, and is doing great! He can outrun every other dog in his fosterhome! Do you think Butch could come home with you? Make sure you see more pictures of this looker!

ADOPTED!! Lady

Lady

Adopted!!

CongRATulations to the Byers family!

Lady is a true peach of a dog, a Georgia Peach, rescued from a kill shelter in GA. After her owner passed away her beloved pets were dropped at a shelter and Lady was facing her last day. Lady has a wonderful, energetic little personality that feeds off of love and attention. Lady is housed trained and is definitely an inside pet. She loves to play chase outside and roll in the grass, but then she is ready to come back inside! She is most happy when in your lap. She gets along well with the other rat terriers in the house, but will growl if they try to take her lap spot. Lady is two years old. She weighs 12 lbs. and is approximately 14” tall. She will bark at strangers, but after a few sniffs she is friendly to everyone. She will let you know when someone is at the door before the bell rings. Lady is very smart and great with children as long as they are gentle in play. She prefers to sleep right in her foster parents’ bed, under the covers (of course!) or cuddled up side-by-side. Lady wants a family like her foster home where she gets lots of petting, love, play and attention! For more pictures of Lady in her foster home, click here:

Adopted!! Joanie

joanie

Adopted!!

CongRATulations to the Mc Bride family!

Joanie is a black and white smooth coat teddy type rat terrier who is about 3 years old. She weighs only 9 lbs. and stands 10 inches tall at the shoulders. She has erect ears, a tricolor head, brown eyes and a short little tail. Joanie is a people-person. Errr … People-Dog. She would probably be very happy as an only dog. As an alpha female, she tends to get possessive of her person, but she has learned to share couch time with her foster brothers and sisters. She REALLY loves being close to you, and thrives on attention. Joanie is great with kids (toddlers) and tolerates cats. Joanie has a close relationship right now with Chachi, who was with her when she was found. She can be a bit bossy but is learning at her foster home to fall in with the pack for walks, feeding and grooming time. Joanie is a smart, quick little girl who enjoys a quick sprint as much as a quiet nap. She is crate-trained and currently prefers sharing her crate with her BFF — Chachi. She is an athletic little gal who runs, jumps and climbs with the best of them. She can scale a chain link fence if the mood strikes her, so that needs to be taken into consideration for placement into her new home. For a look at Joanie in action check out her photo/video album at: Click Here

ADOPTED!! Peabody

Peabody

Adopted!!

CongRATulations to the Oglesby family!

Let us introduce you to Peabody! For some unexplainable reason, this cute little pup ended up at a shelter in the DFW area. Luckily, the shelter vaccinated him upon intake so he didn’t catch one of those nasty shelter diseases that are so deadly to pups like Peabody. Surprisingly, nobody showed up to adopt him, and ResQ was contacted when his time ran out. Peabody is about 3 months old, and bundle of energy. He is very smart and holds his own with the other dogs in the house. He and his foster brother Baxter have bonded and they can run and play all day! If one of the other dogs is playing with Peabody and they appear to be getting a little rough, Baxter jumps in the middle to help him out. Peabody is clever, and at his tender age, has figured out how to get out the doggie door. It was a struggle, but he called on his terrier tenacity, and made it! He is working very hard to learn house manners, and is eager to please. Peabody sleeps in the crate at night, and can go about 8 hours without having to make a trip outside. After a hard day of playing and chasing the other dogs, he usually takes some serious naps! This cute guy would do well in just about any home, and bring years of companionship and puppy smooches. Be sure to check in for new pictures of this bundle of joy! Click Here
