Lady Bug

Lady Bug and her brother recently ended up in a shelter after their elderly owner passed away. From what we know, she was not exposed to any other people or dogs outside of her home. Understandably, Lady Bug likes to take a little extra time getting to know you. But after a few short hours, she warms up and is ready to cuddle up with you in the easy chair. Lady Bug is already housebroken and is learning to walk on a leash. She will do best in a quiet home with a patient family who is willing to help her build trust and continue to come out of her shell. Her world has been turned upside down, and she is learning to adjust. She is between 3 and 4 years old, and weighs just 12 pounds. Lady Bug is crate trained, as well as housebroken. She has never been around children, so we recommend no children under 5. She is fearful of loud noises, and young children would likely frighten her. This sweet girl is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, and has a great prognosis. She should be ready for her new home about the first week in August. Maizie Grace - ADOPTED!!

Sex: Female  •   Located in: Wisconsin   •   Age: Baby

*Maizie Grace - ADOPTED!! is being fostered in Kenosha, WI.*

ADOPTED!! Meet Maizie, a delightful Rat Terrier! We don’t know much about how or why Maizie was found roaming on her own and brought into the Cabot shelter in Arkansas. She weighed only 4 and a half pounds! Luckily, they contacted ResQ right away. She flew from Arkansas to Chicago as the perfect cabin passenger, quiet for the entire flight, no motion sickness, and she is wonderful in the car. Maizie has not met a face she does not love to kiss! She does well with other dogs, and has a great time with the four other dogs in her foster home. (Rumor has it that she has her foster dad wrapped around her little paw.) We have not had a chance to see how she responds to cats or small children, but her foster family will have an update shortly after this weekend, when Maizie will be representing Rat Terrier ResQ at the pet Expo in Green Bay, WI. She is a quick study, and is crate trained, although she would rather be cuddled up next to you). Due to her inquisitive nature, Maizie would probably do best with a fenced yard, because she is so tiny that any areas that are open to escape would have to be closed off. Maizie is 100% puppy and loves to play, but she will not miss the chance to sit on a lap and rest as long as her person likes. At about 14 or 15 weeks, she now weighs 7 pounds. Trixie

Sex: Female  •   Located in: Connecticut   •   Age: Adult

*Trixie is being fostered in Wolcott, CT.*

When we visited Trixie in the shelter, she was housed next to the large dogs, and was absolutely terrified. She cowered in the corner of her “cell” and wouldn’t make eye contact. She showed no fear aggression, however. She just wanted outta there! When the leash was slipped over her head, she drug our volunteer to the front door. Trixie is a sweet little button-eared girl that came from a shelter in central Arkansas and weighs about 15 pounds. She is housebroken with a doggie door and has never had an accident in her foster home, even during a rain. She will sleep in a dog bed on the floor, or she will help keep your toes warm if you would like for her to sleep in your bed. She wants very badly to please her people. Trixie loves to fetch and retrieve a ball or toy, and is very loving. She will bark at people who enter the home, but quickly stops when she realizes they are not intruders. She seems to prefer women to men, and is a bit shy with large men she doesn’t know well. We think she would be fine with older children, but very young children who move quickly and are somewhat noisy might frighten her. Presley

Sex: Female  •   Located in: North Carolina   •   Age: Young

*Presley is being fostered in Winston-Salem, NC.*

 

Presley is a very sweet tail-wagging little girl who loves to play with all the the kids and adults in the house. She prefers to be around other dogs her size, but has adjusted to her foster families golden retriever. Presley is 20 lbs and is estimated to be 2-3 years old. Presley is part Rat Terrier and part Parson Russell Terrier. She was dumped at a kill shelter along with her puppies. Her pups were adopted out and she was left all alone at the shelter. ResQ stepped in and saved her from being euthanized. Presley would love an active home with a family that can provide lots of quality time together. A fenced-in yard would be a great bonus, as she loves to run off that amazing level of energy. She enjoys lap time when she winds down and really appreciates a great back scratch too. Presley will make a forever loyal companion for her adoptive family. Her number one goal is to spend time with her human family as she loves attention and wants nothing more than to please her owner. She would do best with children that are 5 years and older who know how to play with active dogs. Presley is house trained and can sleep through the night in her crate, but sometimes sneaks in bed with her foster parents. For photos of Presley in her foster home, click here:
