Tiny Tina

Sex: Female  •   Located in: Arkansas   •   Age: Young

*Tiny Tina is being fostered in Arkadelphia, AR.*

This tiny little girl is named Tina! She came from a shelter in TX when her time ran out and her family didn’t come to get her. She is only about 6 pounds, and a year old. She is crate trained, but much prefers to sleep in a soft dog bed. In her foster home she sleeps on a pillow on top of her crate! She is quite the jumper. Tina is super affectionate and loves all humans, men and women alike. She greets all visitors with a butt-wiggle and makes friends easily. Because she is so small, we think she would do best in a home with children older than 6 or 7. We think she must have been an only dog, because she’s not quite sure how to play with the other dogs in her foster home. She is extremely possessive of rawhide chewies, and will cause a huge ruckus if another dog gets too close to her prized possession. However, people can take a chewie away from her, and she doesn’t object at all, she rolls over on her back. She is only possessive with other dogs. Once the chewies have been put away, she is a perfect angel with the other dogs. She is fed in her crate, so the other dogs won’t bother her while she eats. She would probably be very happy as an only dog, so she would get all the attention. Tina is housebroken with a doggie door, and will go to the back door to be let outside if the doggie door is not available. She loves to retrieve toys and small balls that are thrown, and is eager to please her people. We think that because she is so small, she makes up for it with plenty of “rattitude.” If you are looking for a spunky little girl who will give you years of companionship, maybe Tiny Tina is the girl for you! Jasmine

Sex: Female  •   Located in: Florida   •   Age: Young

*Jasmine is being fostered in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.*

Hi everyone! My name is Jasmine. Sometimes my foster mom calls me Jazzie for short. I am only a year old, so I have many years of face licking to give and so many belly rubs to receive. I am 14 pounds and fit perfectly in your lap — not too big and not too small. I am completely housebroken and alert my family when I need to go out by giving some quick barks. I am otherwise very quiet and happy laying next to you. I am also crate-trained, which means I know it is time for you to run your errands and time for me to take a nice nap in my crate. I am a bit unsure of other dogs, they make a a little bit nervous. I would much rather be with my humans than with other dogs. My foster family does not have any cats, whatever those are. My foster family takes me out on walks and I do well on the leash. I don’t pull or try to break free, I just walk happily next to them. I love running in the big back yard because it gives me time to stretch out and take in the sun. Sometimes the cows come out in the back pasture and I like to sniff the air. My foster mom says I would do best in a home with children over the age of five, only because when I want you to pet me, I give LOVE NIBBLES. I enjoy laying down next to the little girls that live in my foster home. They play dolls and bang on their instruments, and sometimes they read books to me and I enjoy it all. I get to lay down in the bed with the human kids when they go to bed. I lay nice and quietly and help them get to sleep. Once they are asleep, I go to sleep in my crate. My foster mommy doesn’t want me to get overly spoiled, but promised that one day I might get to sleep all night in a bed with someone. I am a ‘Let’s sit under this big tree shade and watch the butterflies’ type of gal. Because of this, I think that an all adult household would suit me just fine as well. Laying next to you on the couch as we take in a movie, sitting out back as you drink your coffee and I soak in the sun, curling up together after a long enjoyable day together… what could be better than that? Tinker

Sex: Female  •   Located in: Wisconsin   •   Age: Adult

*Tinker is being fostered in Pleasant Prairie, WI.*

Say hello to Tinker! Tinker is the sweetest little lady around. She is an American Hairless Terrier (hairless rat terrier) and is being fostered in Wisconsin. Tinker is about 5 years old and weighs about 12.5 pounds. She gets along beautifully with all of her foster siblings, and with visiting dogs as well. She is tidy and housebroken, and very quiet. She dotes on her foster family and loves to follow them from room to room, wagging her tail all the while. Her very favorite past time is to sit on your lap, wrapped in a blanket, and snuggle with her foster mom. Tinker came to ResQ overweight, and she is working on getting her girlish figure back. Her skin had been neglected as well, but she is doing much better now that she’s being properly cared for. If you would like to consider adopting an American Hairless, please be aware that they need specialized skin care, and will need to wear protective clothing in the winter. Sun screen must also be applied during the hot summer months to protect them from burning. Tinker is a very special girl who is looking for a permanent home and someone to love. Could that be you?

Ziggy

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Florida   •   Age: Young

*Ziggy is being fostered in Tampa, Florida.*

We’d like to introduce you to Ziggy! Ziggy is a puppy, and is only about 8 months old. He is the perfect lap size, at about 12 pounds. He is a laid back, sweet dog, and not overly active. He is well-mannered and does not get into mischief like a typical puppy. He is quiet and calm, and does not bark or chew on things he shouldn’t. Ziggy is housebroken, and crate trained. He sleeps in his crate at night without a peep. This sweet boy just wants to please his people, and is very happy in his Florida foster home. His favorite thing to do is to be outside running around and enjoying the backyard with his foster family. He can be off leash and ALWAYS comes when called. Ziggy is very smart! He likes other dogs and people, and loves to go on long walks. Since he’s being fostered in Florida, he has learned to enjoy swimming in the pool or ocean. He is a little shy and sometimes nervous around new people, but he warms up quickly. He would probably do best in a household with children 10 and over. Ziggy is being fostered in Tampla, Florida, and all he needs now is a home of his own. Could that home be yours?

Thumper

Sex: Male  •   Located in: New Jersey   •   Age: Adult

*Thumper is being fostered in Berlin, New Jersey.*

Thumper
Thumper was such an amazing little guy that a shelter volunteer kept him safe in her home for about a week until ResQ could squeeze him in. Was he worth it? You bet! Thumper loves everyone! He loves men and women equally, and greets visitors with a wag of his little tail. Thumper is housebroken and quiet, and doesn’t challenge any of the other dogs in his foster home. He gets excited when he sees a black car drive by, so we think he must still be looking for his master to come get him. Thumper follows his foster dad everywhere, and gets excited when he sees a leash, or thinks he might get to ride in the car. Thumper had someone who loved him, and we may never know how he ended up on the euthanasia list at a shelter. He is about 4 years old and weighs 16 pounds - just the perfect lap size! Thumper is affectionate and minds well, and would do well in just about any home. However, Thumper can easily scale a 4′ chain link fence, so that needs to be taken into consideration if you think you might like to adopt him and give him a permanent home.

Sanchez

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Florida   •   Age: Baby

*Sanchez is being fostered in Babson Park, Florida.*

SanchezHi! My name is Sanchez. I am about 5-6 months old. I don’t know for sure, because I can’t remember my birthday. When I was really little, I got lost and ended up at a shelter. It was really scary there. Thankfully, rescue volunteers got me out of there. I’m really happy in my foster home, but I would really like to have a family of my own. I love to run and play, especially with other dogs. My foster mom says I annoy the other dogs, but I’m just persistent. Eventually, they give in and play with me. I love kids. I’ve briefly met a few cats, but they won’t play with me, so I bark at them. I sleep in my crate like a good boy, and I am housebroken. I’m learning to walk nicely on a leash and to sit when asked, but it’s really hard, since I just want to run and play. I’ll keep working on it, ‘specially if it helps me get my own family. Do you have room for me at your house? I only weigh about 8 lbs, and I promise I won’t grow much more. Let me know, and I’ll pack my bags, or at least my leash. More Photos Click Here:

Flicker

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Wisconsin   •   Age: Adult

*Flicker is being fostered in Green Bay, WI.*

FlickerFlicker (aka Flick) is a 2 1/2 year old American Hairless Terrier (hairless Rat Terrier) who weighs about 11 pounds. Poor Flick had been passed around from home to home and then to a shelter, when his skin care became too much work. He found his way to his ResQ foster home where his skin has gotten much needed attention. His pores are no longer black with dirt and his skin feels soft like it should. Flick is very shy guy, (a trait of AHT’s), but loves to sit next to you and especially loves being under any blanket. He likes to sit in the sun and tan. He drinks from a water dish, but will only eat in his crate and will only take treats if you drop them on the floor for him. He walks nicely on a leash and lets you handle his nails and ears without issue. He kisses ever so gently, it’s almost like a whisper. AHT’s require special skin care, much like that of a baby. Just because he has no hair, does not mean he is low maintenance. If you are considering adopting an AHT, please read the skin care requirements contained in his photo album. For example, clothing is a requirement in cooler weather, as is sun screen and lotion. He is doing well with housebreaking and is crate trained. He gets along just fine with the other dogs in his foster home, and would do best in a quieter home or with children over 12. For more photos of Flick, and to read about the care and maintenance of an AHT, please visit his album:

Cookie

Sex: Female  •   Located in: Texas   •   Age: Senior

*Cookie is being fostered in Fort Worth, Texas.*

CookieCookie is a beautiful, well behaved, obedient, mature dog of about 7 to 8 years. She’s about 13″ high at the shoulder, and weighs about 14 lbs. She’s long-legged and delicate looking. She’s got a twinkle in her eye and is still very active and lively. Cookie loves to play with squeaky toys, and she loves to chase squirrels! Cookie is well past her puppy years, so she’s not destructive, and not overly active. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, although she seems to prefer the company of her people. She’s amazing with cats! She never chases them, and only growls at them if they try to eat out of her bowl when she’s having dinner. She’s fine with children, and isn’t afraid of a lot of activity around her. She would probably be better in a home without small children. She’s not a big kisser, but is very loyal and loving. Her favorite thing to do is sit at the feet of her people while they are working, or sitting on a lap while watching TV. She loves riding in the car - she’ll watch out the window until she gets bored, then settle down for a nap. She gets lonely when her people are not around, so might be best in a home where someone is around most of the day. She is housebroken and well-behaved, and just an all-around great companion, and would be a great RV traveler! For more photos of Cookie in her foster home, click here:

Lefty

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Arkansas   •   Age: Young

*Lefty is being fostered in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.*

LeftyLefty is a tall standard rat terrier, weighing 26 pounds. It’s hard to imagine, but he was a very skinny 16 pounds when he was picked up as a neglected stray. Despite all the hardships in his short life, Lefty still loves everyone. He likes men and women equally, and follows his fosterdad around when mom is busy. He gets along with all of the dogs in his fosterhome; some are much smaller than he is, and some of them are pretty bossy, but Lefty takes it all in stride. He has very long legs and loves to chase squirrels and birds in the backyard of his foster home. Because of his prey drive, he may not be good with cats, but he hasn’t been tested yet. We feel sure he would do well with children of any age, as well as any other dogs. His perfect home would have a fenced backyard so he could get plenty of exercise. Lefty tested positive for heartworms, so he is going through the treatment now, and doing great! He should be 100% healthy about the end of June when his vet gives him a clean bill of health. He is crate trained (sleeps willingly in a crate) and completely housebroken with a doggie door. He is extremely loving and affectionate, and walks great on a leash. He also likes to ride in the car! There’s just nothing bad to say about this wonderful guy. For more photos of Lefty in his fosterhome, check his album often:

Bennett

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Connecticut   •   Age: Young

*Bennett is being fostered in Wolcott, CT.*

bennettWe’d like you to get to know Bennett! Bennett is being fostered in Wolcott CT, and is a 2 year-old male weighing about 12 pounds. He is a type B rattie with the short legs. Bennett has those sweet, soulful eyes that will make you melt. He is quite the love bug and enjoys snuggling on the couch and sleeping in bed with you. Bennett loves for you to wrap your arms right around him and hold him all night. This sweetheart is housebroken and crate trained. He gets along great with other dogs his size, but has not been around larger dogs yet. He is relaxed around women, but takes a couple of days to get comfortable with men. He needs to know that men won’t hurt him. We have not cat-scanned him yet but we can if a prospective home has a resident feline. He is very gentle, so we assume he would be good with cats. He even plays with a 3-pound chihuahua, and is so good and gentle with her. Bennett is still a bit mouthy in play with people so we would suggest kids over 6 . He is leash trained but is afraid of busy traffic, he was hit by a car before coming into rescue, so who can blame him! He was very lucky to only have some cuts and muscle soreness, and has healed well. He shows his joy at being alive by doing rat runs around the yard of his foster home. If you are looking for dedicated little man in your life , here he is! He will never stop showing his love.
