Jack Sparrow

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Texas   •   Age: Young

*Jack Sparrow is being fostered in Lewisville, TX.*

Jack SparrowIntroducing Jack Sparrow! Jack Sparrow is about a year old, maybe a year and a half, and weighs around 10 pounds. And just like any young dog, he is full of energy and loves to play! He wakes up when the alarms go off and is ready to start his day playing. He loves playing ball with his foster sister Darla, who is a former ResQ alumni. Jack even liked going to the vet; it meant new people to play with! The office staff reported that he just wanted to play, play, play, and they had a hard time watching him leave when his surgery was done. Jack is housebroken, and is a pro at using the doggy door. We haven’t tested him with children, but he greets visitors and new people with a friendly attitude and was not afraid of anyone, so he would probably be good with older children. His favorite thing is his nightly massage, and he loves to be groomed with the Furminator. Jack is very smart! He has already learned the command of “come”, and is learning stay, sit and fetch. Be sure and let us know if you want to make Jack a part of your family, so we can tell him to pack his bags! This boy really deserves a home of his own, and a family who will play with him. Gracie

Sex: Female  •   Located in: Florida   •   Age: Adult

*Gracie is being fostered in Babson Park, FL.*

Gracie2ResQ would like to introduce Gracie! Gracie is a beautiful 6 year-old female Rat Terrier weighing about 17 lbs. She is crate trained, housebroken, and gets along with everyone including dogs, cats, and older children. Gracie was very quick to adapt to her foster home, and is very happy with her foster family, but she needs a home of her own. She is a sweet and extremely affectionate dog. Like most rat terriers, she is full of energy and loves to run around but is also content to sit in your lap and drown you in doggie kisses. Gracie could be the perfect addition to your family. Dixie

Sex: Female  •   Located in: New York   •   Age: Adult

*Dixie is being fostered in Mastic Beach, NY.*

DixieCan you say hello to Miss Dixie? Dixie is a tiny little girl, about 10 pounds. We know someone used to love her, because she was spayed, housebroken and kept on heartworm preventive. Then how in the world was she dumped at a lakeside park and how did she end up at a rural shelter on death row? We sure can’t explain it, but she’s safe now, in a ResQ foster home. Dixie was found abandoned at the park, terrified and with an injured foot. Dixie loves attention, and just melts in your lap when you pick her up. But she is still a bit timid, and will run and hide if you chase her. It’s best to just sit down and call her. She’ll come to you, with her whole body wagging in excitement. Dixie is estimated to be about 3 or 4 years old. She is housebroken, and depends on you to let her outside or use a doggie door. She is quiet and docile, and seems to love everyone. But people walking upright towards her still frightens her, for now. We think she would do okay in a home with older children, but fast-moving toddlers would probably scare her. Whoever adopts her will need to give her a week or so to adjust to new surroundings, because she’s been through a lot in her short life. Her rear foot was injured while she was a stray, and two of the toes were broken and healed improperly, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit. She uses her foot just fine! For photos of Miss Dixie in her foster home, check her album often. You can find it here:

Pippin

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Arkansas   •   Age: Young

*Pippin is being fostered in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.*

Pippin2This adorable little guy is named Pippin. A short description of Pippin is: a dog that loves everyone! Pippin is between 1 and 2 years old, and weighs 12 pounds. He is a type B Rat Terrier, with shorter legs. His fur is super soft, and he is affectionate without being too clingy. He likes men and women equally, and enjoys following his foster dad out to the shop, where he sits and observes. He greets every visitor to his foster home with a tail wag, and thinks they are here to see him! Pippin would probably be fine with children, especially older children who won’t chase him to pick him up.He is a bit mouthy and likes to play with hands, so smaller children would need to be supervised. He is crate trained and is housebroken with a doggie door. In fact, he loves to be outside exploring, even without his foster mom. And did we mention he loves toys? There’s really nothing negative we can say about this great little dog. This little guy minds well, wants to please, and will wake you up with lots of “good morning” kisses if you adopt him. Baxter

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Connecticut   •   Age: Adult

*Baxter is being fostered in S. Windsor, CT.*

Baxter3Meet Baxter! Baxter is six and a half years old and weighs 15 pounds. His family could no longer keep him when they had to move for their employment, so we were asked to help find him a new home. He is being fostered in South Windsor CT. Baxter is a very playful boy, who just loves his toys! Six years old is still a spring chicken for a rat terrier, after all! He is housebroken and sleeps quietly in a crate at night. He loves being outside on nice days and delights in playing fetch with a ball, if you will throw it for him. Baxter happily gets along with his two foster rat terrier sisters, but we were informed by his former owners that he may have some issues with much bigger dogs. He did live with a cat, but they were not best buddies. He will sit next to you on the couch, content to hold a stuffed toy in his mouth and just chill out. He loves going on walks and seems to enjoy riding in cars. A fenced in yard would be good for Baxter so that he can enjoy his supersonic rat runs for exercise. His foster family thinks that he would be a great dog for any family. Do you have room in your heart and home for this little boy? For more photos of Baxter in his foster home, click here:

Ringo

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Texas   •   Age: Adult

*Ringo is being fostered in Garland, Texas.*

Ringo

Meet Ringo!!! He came to his foster mom in December of 2010, and she immediately saw a “Star” quality in him! Ringo came from a shelter in Dallas after being hit by a car and dislocating his hip. His recovery was fast. He also tested positive for heart worms, but after his treatments, crate rest and lots of TLC he is excited about life and a new future with his furever family! Ringo was a little hesitant about men in the beginning but he quickly warmed up when his foster mom took him to work with her several times and was doted on by everyone! His confidence level has grown so much and he is eager to learn and please people. He lives with 2 dogs and a cat. He’s fine with the cat; just mostly curious, and tries to steal her food if he can reach it! He also lives with a very friendly little chihuahua/terrier mix and that is his play buddy! They go to day care together once a week and share the same space and they also love to romp in the dog park. His foster sister is a 14 year old 30 lb terrier mix who has gotten grumpy in her older years but Ringo knows his limits with her and respects them. He loves to take walks every day and does excellent on the leash. Ringo is 3 years old, stands 11 inches high and weighs 13 lbs. He has the most gorgeous markings with a very unique “V” shaped marking on his head! He absolutely loves to “burrow” under ALL blankets either in his crate or the bed!! Ringo’s new family will be the lucky ones, because they will get a loyal and loving companion, a wonderful snuggle buddy, and a dog that loves children and animals. He’s a great little guy with a warm heart and a kind soul! See more great pictures of Ringo!

Halle

Sex: Female  •   Located in: Texas   •   Age: Young

*Halle is being fostered in Garland, Texas.*

HalleHello from Texas! My foster mom gave me the name of Halle, but I don’t like it very much and I don’t really think it’s my name. I’m going to need my very own name when I’m adopted. I was dumped at the animal shelter in Lufkin, Texas when I was so pregnant I was ready to pop. The nice people at the shelter took very good care of me and my babies, and when they were old enough, all but one of my babies went to very nice homes. The last puppy and I were driven to Tyler by a volunteer and picked up by our foster mom. It is so nice to be out of the shelter and in a nice warm home where there is plenty of food, a warm bed and lots of toys. I weigh about 10 to 12 pounds, and am about 2 years old. I’m a sweet young thang! The people at the shelter called me Little Mama, and that is what I respond to. I’m about two years old, petite, a long-legged beauty, and boy do I love to put on a pretty sweater when it’s cold. I’m working hard on my house manners, and I am crate trained. I love to chase a ball, and am learning to bring it back so someone will throw it again. I love to run and jump and play tug of war or just sit on your lap so you will be warm. I am learning that life is good and being loved is wonderful. I am looking for some people to take care of and teach them all about love, too. If you are looking for a great Texas gal, well here I am! For more photos of Halle in her foster home, click here: http://ImageEvent.com/coram/halle

PENDING!! Louie

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Texas   •   Age: Adult

*PENDING!! Louie is being fostered in Garland, Texas.*

Louie

Pending!

CongRATulations to the Null family!

Louie is about 3 years old, and is a very tall fellow (14″ at the shoulder). He has really long legs and weighs about 16 - 17 pounds. He’s a sturdy fellow, and is very friendly. He happily greets everyone he sees. Riding in the car is fun if the window is down (and locked) 2 or 3 inches so he can smell the outside air. He is good on a leash and and gets very excited when he sees his harness. Louie loves to sleep in the bed, either on top or underneath the covers, depending on the weather. Louie is housebroken with a doggie door. In fact, he’s a doggie door champ! Louie is quite a talker — he grumbles and groans when he is settling down to a nap or shifting under the bedcovers at night. ”Louie” is the name given to him by the shelter folks, but he responds to the name “Hawk.” His foster mom thought he deserved a new name in his new life, which fits the Mohawk-like streak down the back of his neck. Louie has good manners, sitting quietly, waiting for his turn for treats or dinner,. He likes to be touching his foster mom while watching TV. He will get onto his foster mom’s lap for short hugs, but then he is ready to get down. He loves to play and wrestle with his people, and has a soft mouth, but he can get excited and has to be reminded to be careful. He minds well. Louie (aka Hawk) would be good for a family with kids 10 and over. He does play with other dogs, especially his rat terrier housemates. This young man will make a fun and loving companion and an excellent watchdog. Is he for you? See more of Louie http://imageevent.com/ratterrierresq/louie

Charlie

Sex: Male  •   Located in: Texas   •   Age: Young

*Charlie is being fostered in Garland, Texas.*

Charlie

Hello, I’m Charlie! I was born in the animal shelter in Lufkin, Texas, and didn’t know until I was almost 4 months old that there was a big old world out there to run and play in. My Mom is a Rat Terrier but my Daddy wasn’t. I’m told he was a wandering Jack Russell Terrier, but I never got to meet him. I’m kind of a fuzzy Rat Terrier with a little fuzzy beard, and I weigh about 10 pounds. They tell me I’m really cute! And boy oh boy, am I smart. I learned to sit after only 2 treats and now if my foster mom is in the kitchen, I run in, slide across the floor (fun!) and skid to a halt and then sit as pretty as you please. That makes her smile and laugh and I get a treat! I almost have learned down and shake, but hey, I’m holding out for more treats! Like any puppy, I love to run and play and chew on things (mom says no when I start to chew on some things, so I am trying to remember to chew on the right stuff). In this photo I have my favorite ball, one of those half-size tennis balls. It makes me look big, huh? Playing tug of war is one of my favorites, and squeaky toys are just fantastic. I was very good at the vet’s office and haven’t met anyone I didn’t like. My fostermom tells me I really need a job to keep me out of trouble! If you are looking for a boy that runs, jumps, plays and cuddles, I’m your man! You need me in your life to make you smile and laugh. And I need a home, so we are the perfect match!

Axle

Sex: Male  •   Located in: California   •   Age: Adult

*Axle is being fostered in Fresno, California.*

AxleWe’d like to introduce you to Axle. Axle is an adult Rat Terrier who is so grateful to have been let “out of jail,” as they say. Axle was in a shelter on his last few days of life when ResQ received notification that he needed our help. When his foster mom saw his adorable face she couldn’t refuse him. She drove all day to get him. Was he worth it, you ask? Yes, he was sooo worth it. Axle is so lovable, playful, smart and the most loyal rattie his fostermom has had in a long time. He is house trained, crate trained, and loves to go for walks and drives in the car. Axle gets along with his canine brother and sister. He will play tug-o-war and fetch with you until you’re exhausted! The best thing about Axle is, he will adapt to your lifestyle. If you want to climb Mount Everest he’ll give it his all to keep up with you. All Axle wants to do his be loved cared for and in return he will love you back times 4. Check out more pictures of me…
