Cookie
Cookie is a beautiful, well behaved, obedient, mature dog of about 7 to 8 years. She’s about 13″ high at the shoulder, and weighs about 14 lbs. She’s long-legged and delicate looking. She’s got a twinkle in her eye and is still very active and lively. Cookie loves to play with squeaky toys, and she loves to chase squirrels! Cookie is well past her puppy years, so she’s not destructive, and not overly active. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, although she seems to prefer the company of her people. She’s amazing with cats! She never chases them, and only growls at them if they try to eat out of her bowl when she’s having dinner. She’s fine with children, and isn’t afraid of a lot of activity around her. She would probably be better in a home without small children. She’s not a big kisser, but is very loyal and loving. Her favorite thing to do is sit at the feet of her people while they are working, or sitting on a lap while watching TV. She loves riding in the car - she’ll watch out the window until she gets bored, then settle down for a nap. She gets lonely when her people are not around, so might be best in a home where someone is around most of the day. She is housebroken and well-behaved, and just an all-around great companion, and would be a great RV traveler! For more photos of Cookie in her foster home, click here:

Jack Sparrow
Introducing Jack Sparrow! Jack Sparrow is about a year old, maybe a year and a half, and weighs around 10 pounds. And just like any young dog, he is full of energy and loves to play! He wakes up when the alarms go off and is ready to start his day playing. He loves playing ball with his foster sister Darla, who is a former ResQ alumni. Jack even liked going to the vet; it meant new people to play with! The office staff reported that he just wanted to play, play, play, and they had a hard time watching him leave when his surgery was done. Jack is housebroken, and is a pro at using the doggy door. We haven’t tested him with children, but he greets visitors and new people with a friendly attitude and was not afraid of anyone, so he would probably be good with older children. His favorite thing is his nightly massage, and he loves to be groomed with the Furminator. Jack is very smart! He has already learned the command of “come”, and is learning stay, sit and fetch. Be sure and let us know if you want to make Jack a part of your family, so we can tell him to pack his bags! This boy really deserves a home of his own, and a family who will play with him. Ringo

Meet Ringo!!! He came to his foster mom in December of 2010, and she immediately saw a “Star” quality in him! Ringo came from a shelter in Dallas after being hit by a car and dislocating his hip. His recovery was fast. He also tested positive for heart worms, but after his treatments, crate rest and lots of TLC he is excited about life and a new future with his furever family! Ringo was a little hesitant about men in the beginning but he quickly warmed up when his foster mom took him to work with her several times and was doted on by everyone! His confidence level has grown so much and he is eager to learn and please people. He lives with 2 dogs and a cat. He’s fine with the cat; just mostly curious, and tries to steal her food if he can reach it! He also lives with a very friendly little chihuahua/terrier mix and that is his play buddy! They go to day care together once a week and share the same space and they also love to romp in the dog park. His foster sister is a 14 year old 30 lb terrier mix who has gotten grumpy in her older years but Ringo knows his limits with her and respects them. He loves to take walks every day and does excellent on the leash. Ringo is 3 years old, stands 11 inches high and weighs 13 lbs. He has the most gorgeous markings with a very unique “V” shaped marking on his head! He absolutely loves to “burrow” under ALL blankets either in his crate or the bed!! Ringo’s new family will be the lucky ones, because they will get a loyal and loving companion, a wonderful snuggle buddy, and a dog that loves children and animals. He’s a great little guy with a warm heart and a kind soul! See more great pictures of Ringo!

Halle
Hello from Texas! My foster mom gave me the name of Halle, but I don’t like it very much and I don’t really think it’s my name. I’m going to need my very own name when I’m adopted. I was dumped at the animal shelter in Lufkin, Texas when I was so pregnant I was ready to pop. The nice people at the shelter took very good care of me and my babies, and when they were old enough, all but one of my babies went to very nice homes. The last puppy and I were driven to Tyler by a volunteer and picked up by our foster mom. It is so nice to be out of the shelter and in a nice warm home where there is plenty of food, a warm bed and lots of toys. I weigh about 10 to 12 pounds, and am about 2 years old. I’m a sweet young thang! The people at the shelter called me Little Mama, and that is what I respond to. I’m about two years old, petite, a long-legged beauty, and boy do I love to put on a pretty sweater when it’s cold. I’m working hard on my house manners, and I am crate trained. I love to chase a ball, and am learning to bring it back so someone will throw it again. I love to run and jump and play tug of war or just sit on your lap so you will be warm. I am learning that life is good and being loved is wonderful. I am looking for some people to take care of and teach them all about love, too. If you are looking for a great Texas gal, well here I am! For more photos of Halle in her foster home, click here: http://ImageEvent.com/coram/halle
PENDING!! Louie

Pending!
CongRATulations to the Null family!
Louie is about 3 years old, and is a very tall fellow (14″ at the shoulder). He has really long legs and weighs about 16 - 17 pounds. He’s a sturdy fellow, and is very friendly. He happily greets everyone he sees. Riding in the car is fun if the window is down (and locked) 2 or 3 inches so he can smell the outside air. He is good on a leash and and gets very excited when he sees his harness. Louie loves to sleep in the bed, either on top or underneath the covers, depending on the weather. Louie is housebroken with a doggie door. In fact, he’s a doggie door champ! Louie is quite a talker — he grumbles and groans when he is settling down to a nap or shifting under the bedcovers at night. ”Louie” is the name given to him by the shelter folks, but he responds to the name “Hawk.” His foster mom thought he deserved a new name in his new life, which fits the Mohawk-like streak down the back of his neck. Louie has good manners, sitting quietly, waiting for his turn for treats or dinner,. He likes to be touching his foster mom while watching TV. He will get onto his foster mom’s lap for short hugs, but then he is ready to get down. He loves to play and wrestle with his people, and has a soft mouth, but he can get excited and has to be reminded to be careful. He minds well. Louie (aka Hawk) would be good for a family with kids 10 and over. He does play with other dogs, especially his rat terrier housemates. This young man will make a fun and loving companion and an excellent watchdog. Is he for you? See more of Louie http://imageevent.com/ratterrierresq/louie
Charlie

Hello, I’m Charlie! I was born in the animal shelter in Lufkin, Texas, and didn’t know until I was almost 4 months old that there was a big old world out there to run and play in. My Mom is a Rat Terrier but my Daddy wasn’t. I’m told he was a wandering Jack Russell Terrier, but I never got to meet him. I’m kind of a fuzzy Rat Terrier with a little fuzzy beard, and I weigh about 10 pounds. They tell me I’m really cute! And boy oh boy, am I smart. I learned to sit after only 2 treats and now if my foster mom is in the kitchen, I run in, slide across the floor (fun!) and skid to a halt and then sit as pretty as you please. That makes her smile and laugh and I get a treat! I almost have learned down and shake, but hey, I’m holding out for more treats! Like any puppy, I love to run and play and chew on things (mom says no when I start to chew on some things, so I am trying to remember to chew on the right stuff). In this photo I have my favorite ball, one of those half-size tennis balls. It makes me look big, huh? Playing tug of war is one of my favorites, and squeaky toys are just fantastic. I was very good at the vet’s office and haven’t met anyone I didn’t like. My fostermom tells me I really need a job to keep me out of trouble! If you are looking for a boy that runs, jumps, plays and cuddles, I’m your man! You need me in your life to make you smile and laugh. And I need a home, so we are the perfect match!
