Zippy – ADOPTED!!

Posted Nov 22, 2018 at 5:16 pm in Latest News

ADOPTED!!  Zippy is a an adorable 6-month old rat terrier puppy with beautiful markings, and weighs about 12 pounds. He is good with kids, cats and other dogs. He gets along with his 4 year old step-brother rattie with no problems. They love playing tug-of-war, and because he still has his puppy teeth, he likes and needs good chewables (unless you want your slippers chewed).  He is so sweet and his training includes being crated at night (he’s a champ!). He’s still working on leash training (he seems to think walks are play time and not for business). He is also still working on potty training, but remember he is young and has been bounced from the shelter, to the coordinator and then to his foster family, so he does have a learning curve. Patience will be a virtue with him and maybe some puppy training and he will be the perfect addition to your family. He just needs a few more manners.  He loves to snuggle in your lap and take long naps. Hey, growing is hard work!  We promise he will bring joy to your life. He is completely vetted and is microchipped. Rat terriers love to burrow, so don’t be surprised if he wants to sleep at your feet at night!! He is one of his foster mom’s favorite fosters and we are sure he’ll be your favorite baby for many years to come.  For photos of Zippy in his foster home, click here:

Spirit – ADOPTED!!

Posted Nov 22, 2018 at 5:09 pm in Happy Endings, Latest News

ADOPTED!!  Spirit’s name truly defines her.  Spirit waited in animal control after being hit by a car, for an owner that would never come.  Her injuries were far more severe than first expected and resulted in emergency and intensive care.  Spirit suffered a shattered pelvis and a horrific de-gloving injury to her back leg.  After undergoing surgery to pin and plate her pelvis, she underwent continual bandage changes in an effort to heal her leg wounds.  It was a long journey, but she never complained, despite how painful it had to be for her.  The skin has grown in on her leg, but the hair is a hit and miss.  Her tail is in constant motion and she now loves to run and chase the other dogs in her foster home.  She is an excellent kisser.  Spirit has worked hard on housebreaking, but has shown no interest in the dog door.  She will, however, use the bell hung by the patio door or alert you by standing on the mat.  She is about 2 years of age and 10 pounds.  We are seeking an exceptional home for her.  A fenced yard is a must, as she loves being able to run.  Due to winter weather and limited transport options, we are seeing a local/regional adoption.  Preferences also include a friend for her to play with and someone who is home more often, as she does have a bit of separation anxiety, which is slowly improving.  Children are okay if they are older, due to her small size.  If you are looking for a dog that has a real zest for life and living every moment to the fullest, Spirit is the one for you.  For more photos of this special girl, click her album:  https://ImageEvent.com/coram/spirit
