Penny – ADOPTED!!

Posted Jun 30, 2013 at 2:37 pm in Latest News

ADOPTED!!    Meet Penny!  This tough little Texas girl survived being left behind in the woods with her siblings and mother to fend for themselves. Luckily ResQ was able to take them in and provide a loving foster home. Penny is a Rat Terrier-Corgi mix and a darling little girl that loves to be cuddled. Penny is 4 1/2 months old and weighs 8 pounds. She is very playful, easygoing, and enjoys long back scratches. After playing with her canine brother and kids in the house she enjoys sleeping in her foster mom’s lap along side her brother. Penny is house trained and sleeps through the night. She is super friendly and learning to walk on a leash. She would do great in a home with children and other dogs and would love to be adopted with her brother “Leo”. They are like two peas in a pod.  For more adorable photos of this little girl, visit her album:

Shae – ADOPTED!!

Posted Jun 30, 2013 at 2:24 pm in Latest News

ADOPTED!!     Shae is just a delightful dog and has wrapped herself around her foster mom’s heart in record time.  No one looked for her when she was lost, and that may be due to the medical care she needed.  When we evaluated her, it was obvious she had a problem with her hips.  But ResQ couldn’t leave her after one look at her sweet face and winning personality, so surgery was scheduled for the leg that was most affected, the one she held up because it was causing pain for her.  Thanks to our wonderful vet and physical therapy afterwards, she has recovered completely and she can lead an active, normal and healthy life.  She is able to run, jump and play!  You would never know she had surgery on that leg.  She gets along with the other dogs in the home and seems to like everyone she meets with a tail that goes a mile a minute.  She is housebroken and knows the dog door and is incredibly loving and sweet. She likes to find a high place to lie where she can survey her kingdom and she loves to be on the bed. Shae is about 11 pounds and about 3-4 years old. This wonderful dog quickly learned how to shake and high five!  She is very smart and acts like a youngster, thriving on attention.  She would do well with an active family since she has lots of energy.  Because her doctor is located in Green Bay, we would prefer that Shae be adopted within the State of Wisconsin.    Will you be the one to give Shae the rich life she deserves?  For photos of Shae in her foster home, check her album:

Sheldon — ADOPTED!

Posted Jun 23, 2013 at 7:29 pm in Latest News

ADOPTED!     Sheldon is one of the “Big Bang Bunch” that was found abandoned in the woods on a lonely county road.  He, along with his mom and siblings, were taken into rescue in the nick of time.  They were covered with fleas and ticks, and were severely dehydrated.  His brothers and sister went to other ResQ foster homes, and Sheldon is being fostered in Arkansas.  He is 11 pounds at 4 to 5 months old, and is already reliably housebroken with only a few daily reminders to “go potty!”   If he can’t get outside via the doggie door, he will use a piddle pad.  Did we give you the impression this beautiful guy was smart?  Well, he is!  Sheldon’s brothers and sister look to be partially Corgi, but Sheldon has long legs.  We really aren’t sure what his daddy was, but he is an honorary Rat Terrier now.  At first this beautiful pup was afraid of being handled, but that has changed in only a week.  He runs up to you for petting, with his tail wagging.  Sheldon is your typical puppy, and loves everyone after he gets to know you.  He is still a bit leery of strangers, but we are working on that.  He loves to play with the other small young dog in his foster home, and minds very well.  If you might be interested in giving this wonderful pup a good home, please don’t hesitate and fill out an application.  Sheldon is waiting!  For more photos of Sheldon in his foster home, visit his album often:
