ADOPTED!! Roxy

ADOPTED BY HER FOSTER FAMILY!!  Do not let her age fool you –Roxy is the most loving little girl, she is about 9 years old, is a typical standard, weighing 16-18 pounds, and she has button ears, her tail is docked but left little longer than normal, and she is quick to wag it! Roxy is very smart and in great health, she is crate trained, obedient, and is housebroken. She follows her foster mom around, and greets her foster dad with a wagging tail. Roxy is a gentle soul, quiet, sweet, and willing to please, she loves giving hugs and kisses, and she loves to cuddle, Roxy would do well with any family, but she would most likely do best in a less active home. She loves going for walks and does very well on a leash. Roxy is true to her Rat Terrier Breed, she will keep all rabbits, squirrels, birds, and mice out of her yard. Because of her temptation to chase such creatures a yard with a privacy fence would be best for Roxy, at the very least she could not be left unleashed in a yard that is not fenced (Roxy has the ability to climb a chain link fence very quickly). Her foster family is working with commands she follows, sit, and stay, and we are now working on come and leave it! If you are looking for a companion that has passed the puppy stage, loves to lay next to you and just wants to be your best friend, this is the dog for you!  For more photos of Roxy in her foster home, click here:

She needs a home because, for whatever reason, she wound up in a shelter on death row, and I took her home with me until we could find her a home. There are thousands of dogs that die every day in our nation’s shelters. There just simply isn’t enough homes for all of the puppies being produced these days. Roxy is one of the lucky ones. Cora

Is Roxy still available? We had a 3 yr old from Annette already. 2 older cats too, who have gotten along fine with Bonnie, our 3 yr old.

Roxy is in Wisconsin, Leann. We would love to have you apply for Roxy, but she would likely not be good with cats. She has a very strong prey drive. Just ask the squirrels in her backyard!

    Hi

Is Roxy still available? How does she do riding in a car? How is she on leash and how is she as far as house training and crate training? I have no children or other pets in home.If so would you be able to ship her to another state? How much would this cost?

    Thanks
    Teresa
